Getting Dreamcast on Broadband Without BBA
Re: Getting Dreamcast on Broadband Without BBA
Oi mate.
Here's a guide that a fellow DC Gamer made, he's actually the owner of that site linked in the article.

I'm currently putting together a linux distribution that will do this automatically for you.

Any idea what the system requirements would be, or at least what distro you're using/basing it off of? I think that I've got an old laptop that would be perfect for this if it can handle it. If nothing else, it sounds like a fun project.
How far is it?
Sorry for the enthusiasm, I think that's a great idea.
peace

Cool. What's it going to be called? What's it based off of? Any other cool features?

Ditto.
Vae Victus!
Re: Getting Dreamcast on Broadband Without BBA
I was actually just starting to get curious how how to get online with my Dreamcast without having to pay an insane amount for the BBA. Has anyone had much success getting their Dreamcast online broadband via any of these DIY methods? I have some old computers at my house with Windows 98 installed and was thinking about giving it a shot. I am surprised no one has been able to make a third party or modified/homebrew version of the BBA.
Re: Getting Dreamcast on Broadband Without BBA
Well, considering there would likely be at least a little custom IC programming, I'm not quite as surprised as you are.
