I have to echo all the love for PDS. Also, have to agree that the first 30 - 60 minutes to the game is the worst part and it can take a while to get into, but once you do, it's an incredible game.

I just knew he liked RPGs from the sig. At first, I thought he was a fan of SNES shmups, specifically Phalanx! American publishers knew that you did away with the fancy anime artwork and put something totally unrelated on your game boxes!
Would you believe I don't actually own Phalanx (yet)!

I thought this was unpopular opinions, not throw on the backwards white jacket and call the men in the white coats opinions. I'd be interested to hear some backup for this, because I have absolutely no idea what you could possibly say.

Guh? This thread has descended into the pits of madness! I'd be just as interested to hear some backup for this one too.

Ain't nuthin' divisive and unpopular like a which Zelda is better than which Zelda conversation. A world where Twilight Princess is considered better than any other Zelda...*shudder*. Really? You really think WW/TP/OoT are better than LTTP? I'd like to hear more.

I keep on forgetting to post this one.

I absolutely hate Ikaruga. I love shoot em ups, I love Treasure games, but Ikaruga is just not fun in any way to me.

I only played about half of Super Mario 3d Land, but I personally thought it was the best 3D Mario (haven't played Galaxy 2).

Main thing I got from that was that he just really didn't like ALTTP.

I'm sure you'll eventually get it. As for that box art, that makes about as much sense as something that should have been released for the SNES -

'Were (that would be present tense in my case, since I'm 14) considered' implies that my nerdyness is disputable.

YOUR CRAZY! ALL OF YOU

all your bickering and fighting over useless gaming crap reminds me of this!

I tried reading this thread but gave up at page 8.

well heres my two cents! If you cant beat them join them.

Although what Im saying has defintely been said by one of you here.

I have only played about 5 hours in FFVII. I never played this game back then even though I was a PS1 fanboy. I sure as hell cant play it now with Cloud looking like an anime Popeye cosplayer. Eight and Nine arent doing any better for my to do list.

I Never liked the Metal Gear Solid Series. Didnt like them on NES, didnt have the patience for it on the PS1 and PS2, and they look too complicated on the PS3.

I have not fully played any sports game since 1996; when my buddy forced me to be his Season team mate on NFL Quarterback Club for the Genesis. The only time I play a sports game is when I buy one for super cheap (or free) at the fleamarket. Usually a Saturn game. I only play it for a few minutes to see if the game works. I have very few sports games for all my other systems.

I'm not particulary fond of systems with 4 controler ports. I have not had anyone to play any type of game that needed that many. The last time I've personally used all four ports for any game is Naruto Clash of Ninja 2 for Gamecube when all my little cousins came over for a party and they used it. not me. Sure I have plenty of controlers, but Gaming for me is mostly a lonely affair.

I got my ps3 about two years ago and it has never touched any COD or battlefield games. Hell, I've never played any next gen military shooters. The closest game i've played in that genre is Resistance. I have a bluetooth headset somewhere, but i dont see myself being a hardcore brogamer anytime soon.

Although I own over 100 saturn games, im starting to find the saturn kinda boring. I dont want to admit it. I love my saturn. But I've pretty much exhausted all of the normal US games. And I am too much of a cheapass to even try to attempt to buy the other expensive games.

DAMNIT!

Ok, here's my explanation and reasoning behind it. Firstly, I do not "dislike" ALTTP, but it is my least favourite Zelda out of the ones I mentioned. What you have to understand is, my first experience playing a Zelda game was Link's Awakening. My second experience was Ocarina of Time and then I worked my way through all of the 3D Zelda games. It wasn't until I bought a SNES a couple of years that I actually properly experienced LTTP for the first time. In my personal opinion, yes it did lay the foundations for all future Zelda games to follow, but there was so missing ingredients from later games in the series that stopped me enjoying it as much.

One important aspect is narrative. In Link's Awakening I felt a connection to the world I was in, the inhabitants and the story. I loved the little side quests and forming a relationship with Marin and the other dude who's name I forget. LTTP seemed to be missing that. It often felt like I was just running around a huge open world, from one dungeon to the next. Sometimes I also felt the game wasn't helpful in helping me in what I need to do next and I used a walkthrough a few times. Although, some may say this is good because the game doesn't hold your hand and you can discover things for yourself, I just feel like I said before, I was running around from one place to the next.

My next point, is the number of improvements I feel the series experienced later. Having Epona to travel across the world or the boat in WW for example, the story etc, the different items they introduced, and Hell, I just love 3D Zelda. I could go into details of why I think the others are so good. Majora's Mask's change of emphasis onto story, an interesting 3 day system, and great side quests and puzzles, rather than just dungeons is one thing I like. I love that Wind Waker feels like you're on an adventure and you can travel across oceans to new worlds. I love that Twilight Princess is darker and I love the story. Actually, I think TP doesn't really get as much praise as the other games, which is a bit unfair. I personally think they perfected everything nicely in that game.

So what do I like about LTTP? Well, the actual gameplay is fantastic for the most part and it did indeed develop the foundations that all future Zeldas would use. It features some great dungeons too. Ultimately though, I could try and force an opinion all I like, but I just can't help the fact I didn't enjoy it as much as the other named Zeldas.
