Toki Tori 2

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

So I have vague memories of the original on a friends GBC and I recently found out about the remake of the original. However, Toki Tori 2 came out today on WiiU and I decided I'd reintroduce myself to the series with that.

It's really quite an interesting game. A metroid-vania puzzle platformer. That's not exactly a common theme in games. It's very pretty as well and I was immediately sucked in with it's two button and dpad control scheme. It doesn't hand hold you at all either, which is always a plus.

While not being a Nintendo game, it feels very Nintendo-esque. A lot like something you would have seen on the Gamecube. And even in the short half hour I've played so far, they're already doing some creative stuff with the mechanics. It doesn't do much with the gamepad though, but it does support off TV play which is nice. I'm not sure if it works with the pro-controller or not though.

Is anybody else playing/planning on playing it?

It looks kinda charming, just hope it doesn't get too dull after a while. I can see myself getting it soon though. I've got a $5 voucher from the digital promotion thing so that'll help too.
