Just started watching Star Trek: Enterprise. I know the series doesn't get a lot of love, but the long pilot was actually decent. Not sure about the gratuitous decontamination scene, though. Imperfect, but an OK start. I hope the hate isn't because the series took a nose dive and more that folks just didn't connect. There's at least a possibility in the latter case.

I started watching it (Scott Bakula, I mean come on) but stopped after a handful of episodes. I've been meaning to get back into it but haven't gotten around to it.

To me the problem with Enterprise was the timeframe it came out in. TV shows were starting to go darker with premise and plot and while they tried, they didn't go far enough with it. It seemed to me that they were on the right track with the Pilot and just didn't capitalize on having a darker, kind of pre-golden days, when TNG took place.

Personally I liked Bakula in the role, I just think it needed to be a bit edgier/darker and that comes down to writing.

Watched first season of Downton Abbey. Wow, so so good. 10/10. Won't ramble, 10/10 speaks for itself.

Just started "Lilyhammer", a netflix original, based on us liking House of Cards. I was not optimistic at the premise, a mobster who chooses Norway as his witness protection locale. We are 4 episodes in - it is surprisingly engaging and endearing. I guess it'd be classified as a dramedy and a decent one at that.

We tried to watch "Borgia" which tried to follow the "Rome (HBO)" formula, but just took it too far with some of the visuals, primarily a young girl, about 13 on the show (I assume the actress is 18) and showing breast shots of her. Very unsettling, we couldn't get into the show, there were more than one scenes with that or similar themes. Too bad, it could have been a nice historical drama.

I'm pretty sure the Showtime formula is "show boobs" no matter what the context or setting is.
