Sure did, a couple of weeks ago. I have a bad habit of posting what I beat in the Games Beaten thread but then not saying anything in the actual genre forums. I found the final boss to be quite easy, particularly after the boss that comes right before her...but then, that was the only boss I found to be a real challenge in the game.

I found the final boss to be quite easy, particularly after the boss that comes right before her...but then, that was the only boss I found to be a real challenge in the game.

So you used Agni at the final boss, right? If you don't you end up beating up on a little girl. You get the "neutral" ending if you end up defeating the Goddess without your Agni form. Getting both endings is fun, but would be much more manageable if there was actually a save point in the final dungeon. Trekking out from a town both times and traveling through the final dungeon twice is a pain in the ass. I always liked how games like FFVI and Chrono Trigger placed save points directly in front of bosses, including the final boss.

I have been enjoying reading this thread. As someone who works full time, attends college, and has a newborn daughter I simply don't have time to play RPGs or any video games for that matter. My focus is simply on collecting for the next six months or so - and living vicariously through you guys.

Yeah, Agni makes the ending boss battle ridiculously easy.

Don't worry, Bone. We'll be more than happy to keep playing games for you! I'll keep you posted on my 7th Saga tales once I get to it.

Speaking of which, I'm now in Chapter 3 of Mega Man X Command Mission. I still like the combat system, though I gotta admit that I never cared for how Capcom distributes XP in their games. I wish they would tell me how much each character gets, as opposed to how much the party gets overall and requiring I do the math myself.

Heh, I am talking about the English dub. I thought it was great, but then again, the entire game is a spoof. So, I guess I would call it "fitting" more than great. The voice acting is FAR better than the gameplay though.

Xenoblade and Last Story are the best JRPGs I have played from this generation. I like Last Story more so far, but I am still near the beginning of Xenoblade, so that could change.

I can see why someone wouldn't like the characters or story, although I personally am digging it. Even if I didn't though, I would play this game for the combat alone. Its just so different to have to control two characters, on two seperate screens, with two seperate control methods, at the same time. It almost hurts my brain... which is awesome!

Wow! That is probably the only time I've ever heard praise for the English dub of Neptunia. The thing is, the characters very much follow anime archetypes, and the Japanese seiyuu are great with that. English voice actors do not know how to capture the archetypes correctly and the ... 'moe'.

I haven't tried TLS. Looks decent. Xenoblade just bored me. Probably doesn't help that it is on the Wii. Would have been more likely to get into it on a portable.

And TWEWY.. Have you gotten past the first week? I can't stand the characters. The way they speak. And the story in general is just 'meh'.. I'd do a better job of explaining why if I had played it recently and not when it came out

After this comes 7th Saga and more SNES goodness, so I don't want to spend too long playing this. It's also more of a traditional RPG than Mega Man Legends.

I liked 7th Saga. So there I never understood all the negativity over it, either. It's no epic, sprawling adventure with the best of storytelling, but as far as an RPG goes, it gets the job done.

Bone is also quite fond of it. I've only begun trying all of the lesser-known RPGs for my SNES this year, but I've had a blast playing through the likes of Arcana and Ys III. So I'm hoping 7th Saga continues to positive experience. Because I don't want to have a bad time before jumping into something like Lagoon.

I bought 7th Saga sometime ago at EStarland, but it will be quite a while before I start it. Played the game years ago when my brother rented it, and I think I only finished the first dungeon.

I wouldn't compare The Last Story to Lost Odyssey at all, LO blows it away. Definitely check out Lost Odyssey if you guys haven't.

YES. But, it was a pleasure to grind till you couldn't grind no more. I think it had a sort of timed hit system too? I enjoyed every minute of this game. Please tell us your stories Ack!

Hahaha, I will as soon as I get to it! But unfortunately, Mega Man X Command Mission is deeper and more enjoyable than I expected, so it may be a while I'm afraid. I want to intersperse some SNES gaming with it, but not another RPG, so maybe I will run through games like Spawn or something.
