Podcast #54 - The PAX East 2013 Roadshow

Post by dsheinem »

Dave and John ventured to PAX East in March and decided it might be a good idea to record their thoughts on what they saw at the show while driving away from the convention. Hear Dave almost crash, hear John marvel at a few inches of snow, and hear two tired gamers struggle to remember what they did over the past few days. If that’s not your thing, skip ahead to the 62-minute mark for our first PAX East 2013 interview with Sean at YachtClubGames, who told us all about the upcoming Shovel Knight!

Your dong has the ability to shut down the entire city of Atlanta, Ds. You should be proud.

It didn't snow, but it snowed a day or 2 before we arrived, so there was about 5-6 inches on the ground.

You also have to put in perspective that I have lived in San Antonio and Houston and have experienced snow only a half a dozen times. And when it does snow, it melts off by the end of the day.

For the second day in a row I accidentally saved the podcast to the wrong place and wasn't able to listen to it. I'll get it on my mp3 player tonight, I promise!

A couple of years ago we had a straight up blizzard here that iced up the roads in town and left the place covered in snow for days. We both live in Texas, so I imagine I wouldn't have to tell you how crazy a sight that was.

There was like 1-2 inches in those spots that were still shady, and maybe a few piles of 3-4 inch stuff on the edges of roads/lots where plows had done their work. I do remember you being impressed by "big" piles of a foot or so in a few strip mall parking lots where they had pushed piles together towards the center.

I get the novelty of it for you, but it was all nonetheless very funny to me :P

I walked through it to that gas station and my foot sunk in much more than 1-2 inches. You are exaggerating in the opposite direction.

And the piles were larger than cars/trucks which is certainly more than a 'foot'. You were making a a bigger deal about my comment of 'that is a lot of snow' than I was about the snow.
My biggest interest though was how it would repeatedly get into the 40s during the day and the snow stuck around. If it gets 33-34 here it melts in a matter of hours.
