I'd also recommend playing Simple Mode for a good introduction to the game. Someone unfamiliar with the game might think 'It's just easy mode, I'll stick with Original' but the score mechanics are quite different and make it worth playing in its own right.

I'll spend some time with this mode over the next week or so and then probably dive into Original Mode a bit more. I think I want to figure out a different controller to use, as the Logitech rumblepad isn't going to cut it for (even friendly) competition purposes...

Like a lot of doujin games, CC is a bit fiddly when trying to set up a controller. I'm just using a 360 pad but I needed to run XPadder. Even then, there's an issue with no-diagonal movement or not being able to move when you hold down the fire button.

I did eventually get it to work properly though; open XPadder, set up your button configuration, then save it. Unplug the controller, start up Crimzon Clover, plug in the controller again once the game has loaded. For some reason this works, though I'm not entirely sure why.

My QanBa stick is plug and play for a vast majority of doujin shmups. but not 100%, of course. I don't think anything is besides keyboard.

I saw you all doing the Simple Mode to start, and here I thought we were gonna focus on Original Mode Truth is, if you're just starting out, I'd too recommend Simple Mode. I saw a lot more of the game so far than I otherwise would have. Plus, the bullet patterns are a bit simpler but still tough enough for you to understand the game better. So I have a score for SIMPLE MODE -

I still miss the light show of bullets and numbers and large shots and huge stars as well as those huge multipliers, so I'll be going back to Original next playthrough

Crimzon Clover amazing game never would have known it existed until this thread was renamed for the month.

Slight improvement. A few stupid deaths. Should hit Stage 4 and 20 million next time, I think.
