Sega CD model 1 (Broken beyond repair?)
Hi I have a sega cd model 1 I just got from ebay that was cross connected where the fuse F301 was and it worked for a little bit but the disc drive ribbon wasn't plugged in so no music or logo on the screen, I opened the system again and put it in place. When I put it back together though it had sound but nothing on the screen and then it stopped working all together after that. I put in a 1.5 amp fuse (via fuse holder soldered in place correctly, and still nothing I know the adapters are fine as they both work w/ my gen model 1, does anyone have a solution? Or does anyone fix these? I would gladly pay to get this tank working.

Check capacitors on the board and make sure none have leaked or bulged.

Are you using the proper AC adapter? Some of the cheap 3rd party ones from ebay don't have quite enough amperage

I am using the right adapter the sega 1602 (same for gen 1) After I plugged in the ribbon for the disc drive it was like the system wasn't getting enough power and just died. Any idea which capacitors to check? I don't have a multimeter and frankly have little experience with electronics in general.

Well, just make a visual check of all the can ones. See if any have puked and the board is sticky around them.
