^The only thing not wrong with that infographic is that Ishtar was a goddess in Babylonia and Assyria.

No. Just no. I mean, didn't this part make you stop and say "wtf?":
However, the celebration of Easter has a long history going back to the time after the Flood. Ham, the grandson of Noah had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis. Cush and Semiramis then had a son and named him "Nimrod." After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and became a powerful King.
Edit: Did you even bother to see from what it was you were quoting?

Only thing wrong with that quote is that Ham is a son of Noah, not grandson.

But please, elaborate...

8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.

10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
There's no mention of Semiramis. There's no mention of mystery religions. There's no mention of marrying his own mother.

And that's not touching upon the rest of the infographic. To wit, Ishtar is not pronounced Easter, and Easter itself is merely the modern pronunciation. The Old English 'ea' doesn't have a singular "ee" sound, but two separate sounds squished together (diphthong). The word itself comes from the Proto-Indoeuropean *austra, and is related to east, austria, oost, and even aurora. It is entirely unrelated to Ishtar.

That along should be enough to kill the relationship between the two, but in case now, Ishtar was not primarily a fertility goddess, but also a goddess of war. None of her symbols were of bunnies and eggs. Constantine had nothing to do with Ishtar. In fact, there's no mention of the word Easter referring to the holiday until Bede, hundreds of years after Constantine. Our very best evidence actually attests to Christians celebrating the rise of their god Jesus hundreds of years before Easter is attested. Only before it made its way into English, it was called Pascha.

The whole thing is amateurs doing amateurish things on the internet without the ability to actually be able to research, lacking in the proper historical and linguistic training to be able to say anything on the topic.

So when the Bible makes no mention of it it's automatically amateurish?...

Looking at your last link it seems a lot of things have been 'misinterpreted' or 'wrongly taken as fact' only just looking at the last few centuries, thus coming to wrong conclusions. If that is the case, imagine how many things were 'misinterpreted' or 'wrongly taken as fact' in the last 2000 years...

And you are correct, Ishtar sounds nothing like Easter...

Oh, by the way, did you know Ishtar was also named Astarte, Eostre, and Ostera?...

It's simply ridiculous to think a lot of the things mentioned in the Bible have their origin in Paganism...

No, I'm saying that whoever made that was a clear amateur.

Not sure what you're trying to say here.

Fuck and duck sound alike, but that doesn't mean they're related.

Sounding alike doesn't mean words are related. And I agree with that. But you're doing an awful lot of effort to prove Ishtar and Easter are not related because they are not pronounced the same...

Words sounding alike doesn't relate words, but not sounding alike doesn't make them unrelated either. You're trying to prove me wrong by saying Ishtar does not sound like Easter, but do just the opposite with Austra and Easter. Yet, Aurora and Easter, even though they sound nothing alike, are related. Using double standards with already difficult matter doesn't make things easier you know...

But let's just forget about it. As far as I'm concerned both the Bible and those pagan stories have some (historical) truth in them, and both have a lot of symbolism in them that should not be taken literally. So you believe what you wanna believe, I will do the same...

No need for either one of us to get worked up over. I hope we can at least agree on that...
