^ $4 at Goodwill. Pretty cool. My first Atari game that isn't loose.
Very nice, especially getting it with that keypad with the inlay! I love Star Raiders on the 5200, a good combination of strategy and basic space flight shooting. I have yet to obtain the 2600 version, should pick up StarMaster as well.

Was surprised by the quality though. The hardware feels really cheap and light plus the title screen looks like crap, but the games themselves are actually really decent ports in most cases. Although he was a little liberal with the sprites in some games. Laughed my butt off when I fired up the digimon and pokemon games and found donkey kong, mario bros, and etc. with altered sprites :). Might have to upload some gameplay to you tube sometime.
Sounds like you might have a different model than the one I've got. Mine has around 70-80 straight up NES ports. Of course, they made a few different models. Mine looks like a N64 controller, and the one you have looks a tad like a DC controller. Same light-gun, though.

Couldn't tell you for the life of me why it has an antenna, though. Perhaps it could just be for aesthetics?
The "antenna" is a light gun sensor for games such as Duck Hunt. It works the same way as the light gun pistol often included with the PowerJoy set. There is actually a good assortment of games on the bootleg Famicoms. Did yours come with the cart slot underneath?

Check out the index, I posted a couple different Articles concerning the PowerJoy series. Feel free to add to the Guide with a review of your PowerPlay if you like.

Mario Sunshine Guide - $2.00 BookOff
There are a lot of Game Guide books going for two bucks at BookOff. I only buy the ones for games I really want to play thru and unlocking all the hidden extras. One can easily read on online Guide, but sometimes fun kicking back and flipping thru the pages.

MS Ancient Lands - $2.00 $1.00 Rummage Sale
There is a local charity group that holds once a year Rummage Sale, a huge event. Unfortunately I could not make it on Saturday, went thru the pickings on Sunday. At least everything left over was 1/2 off. :D

Another medium that went online, Reference Encyclopedias. I have a lot of the MS Home Reference discs with MS Musical Instruments and Dinosaurs my favorites. Think DK Books with active boxes everywhere to click for info, pics and video clips.

DVD Andromeda Strain - $5.00 BookOff
Owned the Widescreen Laser Disc version for years, nice to get an upgraded video in Anamorphic Widescreen. I like the remake, but the original is still my favorite.

DS Action Replay - 2.00 $1.00 Rummage Sale
I think this was also categorized as computer software, a very nice price!

Samurai Jack Collection - $15.00 Each / $60.00 Set BookOff
As an owner of the "Movie" which is just a few episodes, I really have been wanting to buy the Samurai Jack DVD set for quite some time. Never can find a good deal so finally caved in and bought this pristine set. This was better then risking an online purchase, everything is absolutely crisp and it looks like the previous owner just collected it without playing just to own the series.

One thing I would like to get is the expanded soundtrack, the music is very well done. There is a rip of the "Movie" online, I'm keeping an eye out for the official CD that has songs from all the episodes.

Anyone who has not seen Samurai Jack, maybe at least look at the preliminary Movie disc. In addition to the story of Jack's beginnings, there is a great episode titled "Jack and the Scotsman". For a cartoon, it really drew me in. I already went thru the first volume set living thru worlds with Jack, damn the animation is very very good. This series definitely resonates with a good set of speakers rumbling the soundtrack in the background while sinking into the stories.

I picked up a lot of fun stuff this week, probably the best of which is a Game Boy Micro. I paid more (a lot more) than I should have, especially since it came from a "thrift" store but I have never come across one since they were last sold new in retail stores. It's a pretty amazing little handheld but in hindsight I probably would have been smarter if I waited to find one for a more reasonable price or just used the money for something more practical. I got a bunch of NES games (Mach Rider, Jaws, Tiny Toon Adventures, Ghostbusters, The Three Stooges, Robo Cop, Blades of Steal, 10 Yard Fight, Mickey Mouscapade, and Golgo 13) from a thrift store for $3-5 a piece. It was nice to run into some games that weren't the standard common crap I usually find.
Also, I finally came across a Mario 64 for $15. Again, more than I wanted to pay but I've never played it and I've been looking for about a year now and that's by far the cheapest I've found it. Also got Star Fox 64 for $10, The Game of Life & Cat in the Hat for PS1 and The Godfather for Xbox for $8 together, and a Jeopardy Plug and Play for $2 at the same thrift store. At another thrift store I got Go!Go! Hypergrind for Gamecube, Barbie Horse Adventures Riding Camp, and Disney Princess Enchanted Journey for $3 each. I'm sure I'll be looked at sideways for having those last 2 in my collection but rubbish games are fun to play sometimes.
Last stop was a Salvation Army store that usually doesn't have anything game related and found a Game Boy Camera for $0.98. Probably the best actual "deal" I found all week. It seems the local thrift stores where I have found great stuff in the past have started using eBay for pricing. Ugh! This batch of games puts me over the 1000 physical copy game milestone, which I'm sure the Mrs. is thrilled about...

Some Easter weekend pickups. Sorry for the poor phone-pic quality.

After seeing how much my girl wants to play the new Animal Crossing, as well as seeing her excitement over the Adventure Time game (We are both huge fans of the show), I just had to get her a 3DS. I got the 3DS and R4 card from my local game store for $160, the 3DS games I just picked up used from Gamestop.

Also picked both of these up from the same local shop

The Last Story I actually picked up about a week ago, and have since already played it through, but after today's purchase, it seemed fitting to snap them both.

Last Story: $27 (It even has the flimsy outer cardboard which is a pain in the ass, as it was only held o by the shrink wrap.

Xenoblade: $60 (Can't fucking wait to finally play this)

He has had Xenoblade for awhile, but he didn't want to sell it, as he said he would never sell something at a higher price than Gamestop, so he would not let himself charge more than $60. It took me about a month to talk him into finally selling it to me. Very happy to finally et my hands on this one.

Congrats! Very nice of the owner to not match online prices. You must have good rapport with that store.

Thanks!

Yeah, he opened up maybe 3 months ago, and I've not only personally spent a few hundred dollars there (as well as dealing in about $400 worth of trades), but I've also brought in anyone I know that likes retro gaming.

Our only option for years has been a run down, higher-prices-than-ebay litltle shop that will give you no more than $3 for a copy of Final Fantasy VII, which they will turn around and sell for $80. So, once this guy opened shop, I have made it a goal to primarily do business there.

@CRTGAMER

Yeah it does have a cart slot underneath that's one of the main things that led me to pick it up :). It also came with the cheapy lightgun and spare controller think the controller port might be busted though.

Here are some more pics.

Please continue doing so, and have all your friends do business there do. For god's sake, we need more places like this in the world. It's why I do business with this store down the street - the huge "established" retro gaming stores in NYC are way too overpriced, but I even preorder games with this small store (albeit part of a small chain) in the southern edge of Brooklyn. Yes I may buy $4 and $5 games from them, but I do it with such frequency coupled with the higher priced retro purchases when they're available that I've easily spent several hundred dollars with them. The only reason eBay has had more of my money is due to large lots and some rarer items you can't find in the wild.
