Squid Girl just appeared on Netflix and I decided to check it out. The first two episodes were hilarious.

I still think the animation is terrible, lol but it was a well done series that took G1 into account and built off of it. Now Beast Machines on the other hand....
Transmutate.
As for Beast Machines, I thought it was okay. There were apsects I didn't like, such as the endless running and some of that hippie Oracle bullcrap, but it was fairly enjoyable. The animation was great and so was the soundtrack. If nothing else, it's one of two kids shows I can think of to involve planetary genocide. I love when that kind of stuff happens.

Have you watched it recently? I defended it for the longest time, literally years, because I remembered watching it when I was younger. Then I went through the entire series on Netflix and wow. My eyes were opened. I'm not a huge fan of DS9, but holy balls Voyager has to be the worst Trek series out there. There are some gems in there, yes. But for the most part it was really really painful.

I hear you on the DQ species but the problem with that was just that - the Delta Quadrant. When they went past them, at some point the writers had to move past seeing the Kazon (Kurzon? the hair guys that were the wanna-be Klingons) every other week.

Neelix was painful. (oh god the 'Tuvix' episode)
Kes (although hot) was painful.
I didn't think Bellanna Torres was attractive at all.
Janeway wasn't a terrible Captain but she's no Kirk or Picard.

The Doctor was cool, I did like Picardo's characterization of the EMH. And the way the series ended was VERY rushed. I didn't like how they always claimed they had this set amount of torpedoes, or whatever - and then every other second they're firing volleys of Proton Torpedoes at space dust. I never got the whole "replicator rations" thing. It turns matter into other matter. Quite literally, it can change fecal matter into filet mignon. Why ration that?

Yeah, I still watch episodes on Netflix. It's my 2nd favorite Trek series after TNG. The fact that I liked TNG so much is probably why I like Voyager so much. It's very similar in it's storytelling technique, in it's "philosophy", and in the way it looks. And the show had a lot of character. Everyone had a distinct personality that played off of each other.

Neelix was cheesy at times. But no worse than Wesley on TNG, or the stupid singer hologram on DS9. Kes felt like Voyager's version of Deanna Troy, thankfully we got Seven of Nine to replace her who was much more interesting.

Lots of new species were dealt with more than once, more than just the Kazon: There was the Kazon, the Hirogen (the hunters), the Malon (the gross, toxic dump species), Neelix's species, species 3482 (or whatever the number was) that were able to kill the Borg with ease, and the fact that it was the Borg's home-field.

Regarding the replicator thing: It was a power consumption issue. They had limited resources and had to find their own Dilithium crystals without help from the Federation. And replicating food cost energy which means more dilithium crystals being drained. And remember they were feeding more than just their crew, but also the Marquis crew that Chakotay led.

It's a good thing that only season 1 of Oz has the shaky camera. HBO probably gave them a bigger budget because it's much improved starting with season 2.

I'm almost done with season 3. It's like a soap opera and can be predictable. I have a bad tendency to watch an episode at 11pm at night, fall asleep and wake up when the show is over. The next night, I repeat the cycle. I should tell myself to stick with just 1 episode and not try to get a second one in.

Halfway through season 4 of Friday Night Lights, I can't believe how the hours go by when I'm watching this series. I absolutely love it!

Yeah, my uncle watched that series recently and he praised it highly too. I might check it out at some point, but it's not high on my list.

As for what I'm watching, I heard there was going to be an ALF movie produced by the creators of the original show, so I'm downloading the series to rewatch before the movie comes out. I would buy the dvds, but I'm waiting for a rerelease that that has the original aired episodes and not the edited for syndication versions. I'm hoping they'll do that when the movie comes out, preferably in a complete series set that includes the Project ALF tv movie.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

About the only thing I keep up with on TV is The Walking Dead. Other then that I've been watching Breaking Bad on Netflix, and Dexter on DVD.

Also watch One Piece, Naruto Shippuden, Fairy Tail, Magi, and Mondaiji-tachi Ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu Yo? online on a weekly basis.
