So i went to the doctor, and the biggest thing is that i never get any exercise I'm not overweight, but terribly out of shape. I've played the wii at my sisters house and it didn't get my attention.
For a long time when i was a collector (before i sold half my stuff) i had wanted JP version of DDr and the pad for dc.
So I was in the store yesterday and saw that a new ddr had come out, and it was available new and reasonably priced for the ps2.
So I bought ddr x. Jumped around like a godamn fool and i think i've got new bruises.
So my question is how the fk do you jump from the left arrow to the right arrow that fast? I can do it when there' abeat in between but when its back to back it totally kills my flow.
In other news my chest feels better and i now remember why i don't like to sweat.

Re: time to embarrass myself
Ahhh, that's the first thing that gets new people. I shall teach you the secret to doing well in DDR.
The game does not penalize you for hitting arrows when you don't have to. The game only penalizes you when you don't hit arrows when you're supposed to.
So to do the LRLR pattern, just have one foot on L, one on R, and just step back and forth.

Or sumo wrestler pattern as I like to call it. But anyways the secret is to never go to the middle. When you are waiting keep your feet on the left and right arrows.
Oh and man ddr isn't really that good for exercise I suggest weight lifting or if you dont have weights or cant go to the gym push ups and crunches will turn that fat to muscle
But I'm sure you arnt like him
Re: time to embarrass myself
DDR is exercise, it just can't be your sole source of exercise. It does get the heart rate up, but unfortunately you can't do it for long periods of time, due to the nature of the game. It ends up being similar to sprinting, where you cram a lot of energy into a small period.
But I can attest that it does help lose weight. Since I moved and stopped having easy access to a Pump it Up machine (like DDR) I've gained approximately 20 lbs, a figure I had previously lost when I first started playing DDR regularly.

Anything that gets a person off their ass can't be that embarrassing. I don't believe so at least.
I've yet to try DDR at any point in my life, though, so I might be hypocritical.

Re: time to embarrass myself
eh the purpose is mostly to get my heart rate up a'la taking a walk or something. I play on easy for a good hour and i'm in a sweat so i'm satisfied. Obviously its just a cardio part of a work out, but its something to get me started in getting used to actually doing something.
