Interesting info! I was not aware they went back to NES days. Very aware of their current efforts though - love the Pinball Arcade.ExedExes wrote:Also, I found out today that FarSight Studios, known for their recreations of classic pinball tables in various branded collections and now releasing individual tables for download on current consoles, developed the Genesis version of Action 52 and Color A Dinosaur on the NES. Color me surprised.

This kind of thing irritates me:

That was the only part of the game that offered anything approaching a challenge, and it actually made me have to think a bit and plan my attacks instead of just button mash. I thought that it was one of the most compelling parts of the game, and the idea of them nerfing it across all difficulty levels is stupid. You SHOULD have to get through some tough spots to finish a game. If most modern gamers have no patience for a challenge, they may as well just watch movies.Sony wrote:We received extensive feedback from the community that the “Trial of Archimedes” section (Chapter 28) near the end of the game was excessively challenging. In every God of War game, establishing a well-paced difficulty ramp towards the end of the game is paramount to us. Based on player response, the degree of challenge offered here was short of our goal of being perfectly balanced.
In the 1.03 update, at the end of each elevator stage (three total), players will now receive a measured amount of green health orbs and a nominal amount of blue magic orbs. This change affects all difficulty levels. We are confident this revision will address feedback regarding “Trial of Archimedes” while still preserving the level of challenge appropriate for this late section of the game.

Wow, they really needed to patch a game just to nerf its difficulty?
Patches should be reserved for bugs and (in the case of multiplayer) balance issues.

And it'll be a forced update too, unless you disconnect your PS3 from the network long enough to play the game.dsheinem wrote:This kind of thing irritates me:
What is also irritating is this will be a forced update and you'll never get to play the original way again, unless you disconnect your PS3 while you play it, I guess.Sony wrote:We received extensive feedback from the community that the “Trial of Archimedes” section (Chapter 28) near the end of the game was excessively challenging. Thoughts
Hate buying PSP games in third party umd cases. Seriously what could you possibly be doing that caused the UMD case to break, what kind of impact is strong enough to crack the UMDC (Umd Case) but not the disk.
Even though, I have the both games on the PS2, After I beat Jeanne D'arc I'm really excited to play Man Hunt 2 on the PSP.

This drives me crazy too. I have only a handful of games that have those lame clear replacement cases for the UMD discs. Of course, they came from Gamestop. I think it's part of their refurbishing process since they must refurbish the disc and then slap one of those aftermarket things on them. *sigh*SNKnicotine wrote:Thoughts

I live with it since the games were complete, in good condition, and cheap because of Gamestop sales.

Same here, It's basically the only place you can get them CIB for cheap and inspect them personally.FerretGamer wrote:This drives me crazy too. @ferret
Maybe it's me but I've been noticing that the Frederick Record exchange, has had slim pickings for games lately.

I've never been to that location (I need to change that) but the Silver Spring one has slowed down quite a bit as well the last few times I've been there. I actually had a tough time deciding what to use my $20 credit on because there hasn't been much of interest.SNKnicotine wrote:@ferret

I just wish there was more in the way of dedicated retro game shops in Maryland, land of Gamestop.

I've had to resort to Pawn shops, and flea markets because even Craigslist is littered with resellers and people asking for retail on battered B list games.FerretGamer wrote:I've never been to that location (I need to change that) but the Silver Spring one has slowed down quite a bit as well the last few times I've been there.
