Wiimote problem.
Wiimote problem.
Hi all, I have three wiimotes and one of them allways show that batteries are dead and turns off quickly, even if I use new batteries and if work fine with other two wiimotes. Can you tell me what can be the problem? Wiimote is mint condition.
Re: Wiimote problem.
Are they genuine Nintendo controllers? Third party brand? I remember a thread about motes bought off eBay that were Chinese knock offs but looked authentic.
Re: Wiimote problem.
Try resyncing the Wiimote with the console? The red button above the SD memory slot and also in the Wiimote battery compartment.

Re: Wiimote problem.
One of my original remotes is stating to play up, keeps power cycling and doesnt always recognize the nunchuck.
I'm sure the latter problem could be solved by cleaning the contacts but the first one is a bit more worrying. Makes me wonder if they are going to be hard to come by in years to come.
OP - Have you checked the battery terminals for oxidization? maybe a clean would help
Thinking about it, that might help my problem too..

Re: Wiimote problem.
Considering how wide spread the Wii is and that the Wii U uses Wii remotes ... I don't think we're going to have a Wii remote shortage of any kind for at least a decade.
It could be any number of things. Not synced right is a good place to start, which was mentioned.
Wii remotes also have a slight issue with batteries not staying intact if you store them installed. I have a remote that I just forgot to take the batteries out of ... it's completely filled with residue (still worked when I tested before cleaning). And it's happened to the balance board I have on several occasions. That can easily make it not perform correctly.
Internal damage you might not be aware of. Etc.
Try resyncing it. Try brand new (different brand possibly) batteries. Try it on a different Wii or a BlueTooth adapter on a computer. If it behaves the same in all those situation, it sounds like the controller is busted.

Didn't notice any oxidization, but still cleaned again fully all contacts.Curlypaul wrote:One of my original remotes is stating to play up, keeps power cycling and doesnt always recognize the nunchuck.

Yeah it is genuine one, unless knoff off are just like original ones and are made from same materials.Ziggy587 wrote:Are they genuine Nintendo controllers? Third party brand? I remember a thread about motes bought off eBay that were Chinese knock offs but looked authentic.
Tried resyncing, tried philips and duracell batteries.Cronozilla wrote:Considering how wide spread the Wii is and that the Wii U uses Wii remotes ... I don't think we're going to have a Wii remote shortage of any kind for at least a decade.
