Anybody get Rock Band 2 yet?

From a legal perspective, Harmonix has paid the artists X amount of dollars to use their music for the Rock Band video game. They cannot legally transfer the music to a different game, as the rights would have been written up specifically to be having the music on the disc. The DLC would have slightly looser language that would involve the rights to offer a download of the music for their music games. To allow for the transfer of music from RB1 to 2, they need to negotiate a new contract, and had to provide more money to the publisher to expand those rights to move the music onto RB2. Because of these legal issues, they weren't able to allow us to transfer a few songs, as the contracts couldn't get ironed out.

Makes sense ... Didn't really think of it like that.

Still waiting out my month before the timed exclusive finishes and I can get my PS3 bundle.

Same here. Which feels strange because I do own a 360 as well, but have RB 1 for the PS3 already. Losing the instruments and songs is not worth getting it a month early (just barely).
