For those who have never heard of it, Lasermame was a version of MAME compiled to run a specific setup of lasers for vector games:


Well that setup was like 200k in 2004, but the idea has never died and earlier this month this video popped up:


With a setup that cost about $500 to make. Its not perfect, but one day we may be able to play asteroids where the ship is the size of a school bus.

That's awesome. I was expecting just a single color, but the multi was cool. If there was a way to have a screen that had a little bit of persistence like a CRT tube that would be even better. I'm sure the camera made the flickering worse, but some balance between persistence and smearing would help.

A screen would help with the cut corners and the overall picture, but I really want it to work so I can project it on the side of a mountain...
