I beat all 8 bosses and I'm up to the last part of the game now. I can't figure out how to get past this one part. Is any this far in the game yet? I'm on the first Wily stage. It's the part when you climb up a ladder into a new room, and there's a laser (the kind that if you touch its instant death) in the middle of the room that shoots horizontally. You use the coil to reach the ladder at the top and climb to the next room, this is where I'm stuck. This room has three lasers (or whatever they are) that shoot horizontally but not in any pattern that you can get past them. Then to make it even worse, there's nothing in the room, just a ladder at the top. I have no clue how to get past this part. Any one up to that yet?
Warning, spoilers!.....
I found out the boss weakness order, figured there's people that would like to know...
Galaxy Man - By far the easiest, start with him
Jewel Man - Use black hole bomb
Plug Man - Use Jewel Satellite
Tornado Man - Use plug ball
Magma man - use tonrando blow
hornet man - use magma bazooka
splash woman - use hornet chaser
concrete man - use laser trident
So who downloaded MM9 today?
Re: So who downloaded MM9 today?
After an hour and 20 minutes of play, I've beaten 7 of the 8 master robots, all of them but Jewel Man. It's quite a fun game, though it does seem to have a few more insta-death traps then even the old NES games. Still, I know when I get my own Wii I'll be downloading this for myself, it's good old school fun. I'll probably be finishing it tomorrow.
I really hope this game does well and we get some more retro-sequels/prequels/whatever of other older (or newer?) franchises.

I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

That section of Wiily Stage 1 took me a long time to figure out. And even after figuring it out, I'm still not that good at getting through it without losing a few lives. To get past it is:

Concrete Shot to freeze the lava.

I think Capcom just lost another opportunity to have a Robot Master named "Kikkoman". He would attack with highly damaging Soy Sauce.

Nail it right on the beam. It takes good reflexes on the second screen, due to the ballistics of the shot. You should practice it in the first room that has the single beam.

Re: So who downloaded MM9 today?
Whaaaaat? That's nuts! This is definitely the hardest screen in the game!
How can you practice it in the first room? The beam is too high up to jump and hit, isn't it? I can't believe that's the only way to get past it. Not only because of how hard it is to shoot the beam which moves really fast, but it only stays frozen for a while.
So after you shoot the first beam, where do you go? Are you suppose to use the Rush Coil to get to the top or to you climb on the top of the first beam's cannon thing, then freeze the next beam ect?

In the room with the three beams, this is what I did. First hop on the thing that shoots the first beam, wait for it to fire, and when the first beam has almost made it to the other side, shoot it and it'll freeze. Run across, and when the second beam comes at you, shoot it and jump on it. Then quickly shoot the third beam as it comes toward you. If you think any of the beams will be changing back soon, shoot it again and it'll refreeze it. Then take one of the ladders, I think either the far left or far right one.
It's tricky, and it ate up a few lives before I got the hang of it.
I actually beat the game this afternoon. There's a few two many BS traps and insta-death spikes then a traditional Mega Man game, and the Wily Fortress is full of tough traps (make sure you have an E-Tank or M-Tank saved for Wily if you want to avoid frustration, and even then he's tough.), but it's a pretty fun old school Mega Man game.
Some tips for people who've yet to reach Wily:

When you get to the final stage, where you'll fight the 8 robots again then Wily, you'll encounter laser barriers. Your supposed to use the Cement Shot to block them, but honestly, your better off just taking the hit, as Cement Shot is pretty important if you want to win. Besides, between the big health power up you get before the Robots room, and that you get a health power up after beating each robot, you could conserve your Cement Shot and just beat a weak robot first.
DON'T use Cement Shot to kill Galaxy Man. Cement Shot is the weakness for Wily's second form, and Galaxy Man is wicked easy anyway. Unless you have an M-Tank, you can't replenish your weapons. Plug Man is the weakness for Wily's final form, but it doesn't deplete as quickly as the Cement Shot does, so it's fine to use against Tornado Man first. Also, Tornado Man's power and the Black Hole Bomb are decent against the final form of Wily, as the former does a bit of damage and shuts out his attacks (though you probably won't have any after fighting Flame Man), and the latter cane suck up his attacks and hit him.
