Finally got a chance to play the demo today. So far I'm loving the new content, and especially the bow weapon which I'll definitely be picking up. I may or may not pick up the hunting horn and the dual blades as of yet (I already use long sword and switchaxe, so that's a lot of weapons to keep up with).

Sometime during April, a month after the game launches, Capcom will release an update patch for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U. This update will allow North American and European players to play together, and will also add off-TV play to the game, which will let you play on the Wii U GamePad without a TV.

So the 3ds version is local play and tagalong on the Wiiu. And since the Wiiu allows you to play online with two people, can you play online with three people if one is on a 3ds? Or am I confusing titles again.

I was asking the Capcom guy at PAX East about this yesterday. He didn't know. Oh, and the Wii U froze. lol. Good times.

I am still not sure whether I want this game, but if I do I want to be able to connect to my friend's Wii U from my 3DS for multiplayer. That way we can do multiplayer in the same room instead of just on our separate Wii U's at home.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can adhoc a 3DS with a Wii U locally and still play online with someone not in that room.

From everything I've read, the only way for 3DS to play online is via an application on a Wii U. For that to run, the Wii U can't be running anything else, so I'd imagine the answer is no - you'd need a seperate Wii U to allow the 3DS player to join in online.

Just got to High Rank! Haven't been using anything besides Bow yet, building armor and weapons is just way too expensive with the pay from low rank quests and materials. Getting ready to start grinding up a new high rank armor, although I don't know what it's going to be yet.

I've only played and hour or so since I'm deep into Lego City and Need for Speed right now. I'll probably play quite a bit more as I finish those up. I'd really like to try the co-op, but I'm not sure how that works.

I just found out that long swords are available from the beginning of the game.

Dang it, I may have to get this now.

Just ordered this game this morning for same day delivery. :)

A friend of mine will also be playing on Wii U so I decided to jump on board. Hopefully I can get another friend w/ a 3DS to join in too. We can play adhoc via Wii U + 2x 3DS.

And I will also play online via Wii U. :) I wish they had a cross buy program.. ugh $100 down the drain
