Just curious as to what he though "market value" was? Some people still seem to think that VII is rare or something, and that it should command some stupid value. If he wanted like $20 or so that wouldnt be so bad.Fragems wrote:Picked up complete copies of Alundra and Metal Slug X for the PSOne for $2 a piece at the flea market today. Almost got FF7 Black label CIB for $2 as well but the sellers son showed up and while he was fine with all his other PSone games for $2 he insisted pretty much market price value for FF7so i passed it up.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I've noticed this too...you would think that people who sell video games to supplement their income would have a better grasp on the market price of their games. Usually, however, they mark Mario and Final Fantasy games up to a price well above market and let some truly rare and expensive games sit in a bargain bin...I guess they know what sells, however...aaron wrote:you got better games at a way better price, anyway. nice pickup. i always think it's hilarious that every joe schmoe at a flea market knows that Final Fantasy titles are "worth a lot on th'ebay" but you could sneak a persona or breath of fire III out from under them pretty easily.Fragems wrote:Picked up complete copies of Alundra and Metal Slug X for the PSOne for $2 a piece at the flea market today. When i say market value I usually mean Amazon value which is a little more inflated then eBay but usually there are more copies to be had there and its easier to estimate the price range.jay_red wrote:Just curious as to what he though "market value" was? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOLFragems wrote:The price the kid threw up was $40 firm. Figured it was going to be a pretty big leap when the first words out of his mouth were "that's extremely rare and really expensive".

Reminds me of a recent conversation between my girlfriend and one of her coworkers. She told me she'd ask around locally and see if anyone has any old games they'd like to sell. Here's how the conversation went:aaron wrote:LOL LOL LOL LOL LOLFragems wrote:The price the kid threw up was $40 firm. Her: "Let me know if you or anyone has any old games they'd like to get rid of."
Him: "Ok I'll ask but no guarantees, those are expensive and rare."
Her: "Not really."
Him: "Old games from Nintendo surprisingly go for about 100 dollars."
Then he links her to an active listing for a sealed VGA graded copy of Kid Icarus for NES that someone is asking like $40,000 for. As if the most ridiculous listing he could find is any indication of how much games in general are worth. haha

Also this further proves my point with how stupid grading video games is, sure if its a coin/stamp/dollar bill/baseball card, go wild, grade the shit out of it!

Picked a NTSC-J copy of Street Fighter III Double W (Double Impact) for $4. It is missing the manual, but in great condition. eBay.
