Having played only a few levels in Resistance some time ago, I can agree with this. I found it to be dull, with uninteresting enemy AI and bland level design. Sorry you are having to experience it.Pulsar_t wrote:Resistance Fall of Man is such a bore.. especially after having played Singularity which was a more interesting game (and was criminally overlooked). Perhaps I should have skipped to R3 instead.
What single player FPS campaign are you playing?

1 level remaining on MoH European Assault (GC).

I don't agree with Resistance being a bore, but I do think that each version is better than the last, so I would definitely try 2 or 3 if you're not liking the first.Ack wrote:Having played only a few levels in Resistance some time ago, I can agree with this. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Count me in for not being a fan of Resistance at all myself. The most fun I had with it was when my friend and I just decided to start meleeing everything, it looked awful and gave us a few laughs. The AI was definitely terribad.
Not like I'm anti-Sony FPS's or anything, but I really can't get behind Killzone either. Played most of 1 and tried out 2-3, just bleh.
Singularity is top notch for sure though, excellent game. Felt a bit like Half-Life 2 meets FEAR.

I can understand not getting excited about Resistance, but Killzone 2 is pretty much console FPS at its finest. Destroys Halo and the like. I never played the third one, but Killzone 2 has the best FPS AI that I've ever experienced. Mind blowing visuals and audio design as well. The multiplayer was rather fun and addicting too.Xeogred wrote:Count me in for not being a fan of Resistance at all myself. Generally I don't really care about FPS, but Killzone 2 was insanely impressive.

I would agree that Spearhead is better (Page 87 or something) I thought the italian setting was pretty interesting, though. That's not an area covered in most WW2 games.
I fired up Homefront .... and then I uninstalled it.

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Resistance has aged about as well as your average store-bought bread. That said, what I played of 2 was much better. I haven't played 3, but I've heard a lot of people say that it was the definitive PS3 shooter as far as single player. I've also heard lots of comparisons to Half Life 2 in regards to R3.
I'll probably buy Bioshock Infinite in a few weeks. I want to finish Lego City first.

Older. Not wiser.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I am 9 hours into Bioshock Infinite and really loving it, it is like an extreme re-imaging of the first Bioshock, rather than a true sequel. I do prefer Rapture to Columbia, but man, it is a great game.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Medal of Honor European Assault (Gamecube) is completed! All medals earned! That very last mission I'll admit was one of the toughest I've ever encountered in an FPS. I think this game had quite a few bugs and mis-steps too, but it was a very different engine, style, and presentation than the other games in the series were.
That completes the "trilogy" on this console. I still have to get through MOH Pacific Assault and to try MOH Airborne on the PC.
As for future single player FPS? Half-Life for April's Together Retro, and I'll be starting Rainbow Six Lockdown on the Gamecube soon.
