Problem with burning Saturn ISO

Post by Vetus »

I'm using ImgBurn in order to write Saturn ISOs to CDs and play them to my modchipped Saturn. The problem is that everytime I try to write an ISO, an error message appears and the writing progress is unsuccessful. That's why I chose 24x speed, then 4x...the same result. The ISOs are fine because I could play them to Saturn emulator. I have never met something similar while writing ISOs for other consoles (Wii, Gamecube, PSX, PS2).

Any idea what did went wrong?

You might want to post the error message and/or screen shot to help trouble shoot. Make sure your media is good too. Sometimes you just get bad media and the discs are unusable.

Like I said the media is good since they play fine on Saturn emulator. And I tried many different media again and again. Next time I try again to write a game I'll post the error message since I forgot to make a sceenshot of the error message last time.

It sounded like you tried the ISOs on the emulator, not the burnt CDs. When I say media, I mean the CDs you are using.

If the CDs work fine in an emulator, what do they do when you put them in the Saturn? What behavior do you get?

Sorry, my mistake. At the emulator I run the games' ISO files directly (to be more exact the bin/files) and not the games from cds. As about the behaviour of the failed-writted cds when I put them on Saturn they run as music cds from the cd-player program of Saturn (aka they play music samples from the game) or they run as corrupted music cds.

As about the cd media, I use Verbatim, the best cd/dvd media for games iso (and not only) which never failed to me (unless I have downloaded a corrupted iso).

My Saturn is picky for CDs. Verbatim didn't work on mine. Do you have other Verbatim burns that work?

I've had good luck with Sony and Taiyo Yuden.
