It's a Miracle!

No, really, it is:

And it works, too :D

I found it whilst roaming through the thrift store. It didn't have it's faceplate on and they get keyboards in quite frequently, so I almost didn't notice it. It wasn't until I saw the manual and papers with the missing faceplate a little further down on the same shelf that I realized what it was that I had just passed.

It's got the foot pedal, power adapter and came with a stand (not pictured), but try as I might I couldn't find a connector of any kind :( . I guess I'm going to have to take a good look at CRT's mod article to see if that's something I can realistically pull off. According to the Wikipedia article:
Some of the NES Miracle keyboards were also later converted for PC use - the Nintendo Seal of Quality on these boards was covered up with a piece of plastic.
And indeed, this is the version that I have. If you look in the photo, you'll see a circular note up in the upper right corner. That is the "piece of plastic", AKA sticker in question. If you turn the faceplate over you can clearly make out the indent for the Nintendo Seal of Quality that's hidden under the sticker.

So maybe I can mod me a cord for this baby if said cord doesn't show up within a couple of weeks. The carts seem to be cheap enough, anyway.

If nothing else, it's a neat new toy to play with, game or not.

$17.50

I think I have some random connectors for our miracle piano. My kids use it as, well, an actual learning piano, but they don't hook it up to the console. So if I have what yr looking for, you can have it. Do you have pics of what you need?

 Wow, nice price! You are right, the piano is the same internally for all versions, just needs the right cable and software to use the Console or PC teaching and "jukebox control" part of it. It works fine as a stand alone too. What I really like is in addition to the sustain pedal, the keyboard has a sensitivity range. The harder you strike the keys, the louder it gets. Hook it up to your stereo to really get the effect.

I built a NES cable and added a better sustain pedal for the Miracle Piano. I also aquired an official Miracle PC cable; need to take some readings and update the Guide so PC owners can build one.

For now, you can make your own NES cable, and buy the Miracle NES cart which is inexpensive online.

Hookup that console! The console can also act as a jukebox, click a song and the piano plays by itself! It can also go into the teach mode, detecting which keys are pressed during a lesson.

Joined a few friends for a Grand Opening to a new Book Off that just opened today. Nothing spectacular but I suppose that can be seen by me as a good thing as I'm low on dough. Did find a few items though for video games and some anime...
Vampire Night (PS2): $5
Ocean blue PS2 Controller: $5
Sailor Moon 6 episode DVD by ADV: $5
The Big O Anime Legends "Complete Collection": $20

This is the best cover of a game ever.

The game was: (1) developed and published by Nintendo; (2) in English; but (3) only released in Germany. I have no idea how a copy made its way to my local Goodwill, but it will be a nice, interesting addition to my collection. (It will also be the second foreign Gameboy game in my collection behind Mickey Mouse, which is the European version of Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle 2.)

I paid $2 for the cart, but since there are no completed eBay listings, I have no idea how much it is actually worth. (There is one sitting on Amazon for $17; so, my guess is "not much".)
Atari 2600 Jr., NES, Gameboy, Genesis 1 and 2, Saturn, Virtual Boy, Gameboy Advance (with Supercard SD), Playstation (With Goldfinger), Nintendo 64, Playstation 2(modded), Nintendo DS (Fat) with Edge

Went and helped my friend paint her girly room and got some games. She thinks she as some more Jaguar games, anything is good since I only had 3.

Genesis; Castlevania Boodlines, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Gauntlet IV all in box former rentals but labels on games are great.

Gameboy; Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge

Jaguar; Checkered Flag, Iron Soldier, Flip-Out, Cybermorph, Tempest 2000, Pinball Fantasies, and Kasumi Ninja

Picked up complete copies of Alundra and Metal Slug X for the PSOne for $2 a piece at the flea market today. Almost got FF7 Black label CIB for $2 as well but the sellers son showed up and while he was fine with all his other PSone games for $2 he insisted pretty much market price value for FF7 :P so i passed it up.

Aw man, mjmjr25, that's really nice. But you should keep it. I'd feel bad if I absconded with a cord that you or the kids might want to try later.

Making the cord myself looks to be surprisingly easy (and fairly cheap in case I screw up horrifically), so I think this will be an excellent chance for me to get some much needed soldering experience. When I go to RadioShack to get the parts next week I'm going to pick up a spare board and some capacitors so I can get some practice in for when I eventually try that Genesis S-Video mod :D

Yeah, I saw your post about making your own cable. Looks like something I may actually be able to do myself.

Quick question, though. When I called, they said they were out and wouldn't have this in until this week, but this is the right 25 pin connector, correct: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103239

Just want to make sure, as this is something I haven't done before.

you got better games at a way better price, anyway. nice pickup. i always think it's hilarious that every joe schmoe at a flea market knows that Final Fantasy titles are "worth a lot on th'ebay" but you could sneak a persona or breath of fire III out from under them pretty easily.
