Final Fantasy X HD + FFX 2 International

Post by Gamerforlife »

I thought we already had a topic for FFX HD but the search engine was being pretty useless. So here's a new thread, made due to recent news that we're getting FFX 2 International here in the States, which is kind of a big deal. I hope FF X is the international version as well, since it's the better of the two games in my view.

That is awesome news, especially considering how much content was added in the International version of X-2. I would really hope that they do the international version of X though, as it only makes sense.

I wonder if X-2 will also get the HD treatment?

Either way, a day one purchase for me.

I keep seeing people wondering if X-2 will get the HD treatment. Why isn't that a foregone conclusion? Seems like it would be.

I am looking forward to ff x hd. However, I am mildly surprised in the interest in X-2. That was a steaming pile of a game in my opinion.

I never played it, but I know of several people that liked it, must be one of those love it or hate it situations.

I remember the combat system being quite fun, which helped some people overlook the drastic shift in tone from FFX.

Be nice to see XII International get the same treatment, but I'm not sure it's the same engine (half sure it uses the XI one).

It does seem likely, but the way they talk about adding it in as an extra, and selling it seperately for Vita users, along with it being a much less popular title, just makes me question it. Plus, these HD re-releases have been hit or miss so far, so I guess I was just curious if anyone has seen additional info stating otherwise.

I thought the game was great. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but then again, thats what FF is all about. If the game doesn't get love/hate, then its not a true FF. So, you could say X-2 is quite a success in that regard.

Well I don't see it as a real FF. Just a girlie pop spinoff which was kind of a travesty to me. Heh. I don't begrudge others who like it. Just surprised.

 I suppose I can see where you are coming from. The game defiintely puts the "J" in JRPG. I just found the combat system and job classes a blast, and getting to play a game with more Rikku is always a plus. The game was poppy as hell, but when the story got serious, I found it pretty intersting.

Sure, X could have done without a sequel, but I think X-2 had a nice blend of seperating itself from its predecessor, while still filling out the overall story. I also found it intersting that almost the entire game was optional, and that you could end up at the end of the game waaay to weak to take on what was ahead of you.

Its not as polished and serious as the main FF titles, but I had a good time with it, and would defintiely play through it again to see the additional content (9 bosses added!? Expert job class tier!?)
