Bust A Groove 2: Dance Tengoku Mix on Modded PS1

When I put a burned copy of this game into my modded PSX I get this message in Japanese: "Forced shutdown due to possibility that the main body has been modified."

Is this because it's a burned copy or because the game somehow detects that it's being played on a modded system? I just want to know before I order an imported copy only to find out I can't play it.

It's probably the chip. Upgrading to a new chip might be cheaper, right?

The game is only $20 shipped. I am not sure what a new chip would cost. The system was modded when I got it.
Other Japanese games play on it well.

I have a modded PS1 and my import copy of the game plays fine. Both games actually.
