I've already said everything I needed to say, and everything you're saying is the same stupid crap Rock bashers have been saying since last year's Mania. You all sound like a broken record and a bunch of whiners. Everything you said doesn't make sense. Why aren't you bashing Triple H or Undertaker for not wrestling or making appearances every night, or Brock Lesnar for that matter, or Jericho for taking little vacations whenever the hell he feels like it. Aren't they on WWE's payroll? Aren't they active members of their roster? If that's all there is to your argument, it's pretty weak.BurningDoom wrote:Incredible, thought out reply.Gamerforlife wrote:BurningDoom wrote: First of all, YES. He can come on the show and cut promos and tell jokes. That's what he's good at.
And secondly, why in the hell can't he wrestle against other guys? He is an active member of the WWE roster, correct? WWE is paying him, correct?
I'm sorry, but less is not more in this case. All it's doing is making the Rock come off as some spoiled Diva or rockstar or something. It he wants to be the WWE Champion, then he needs to man-up and represent the company like a WWE Champion should. If he can't do that, then he shouldn't be the champion.
You wanna know why? Because these guys have paid their dues and can essentially do whatever they want because they've earned it(well, that's debatable in Hunter's case, but I digress). Calling Rock a diva or rockstar is just a nice way to sweep everything he's done in his career under the carpet like it never happened and is the kind of thing that jealous people who will never accomplish anything themselves say. It's easy for guys on the roster who aren't even on The Rock's level to bash him, makes them feel better about their selves and their lower spots in the WWE hierarchy. I hate you, "what have you done for me lately" fans who just act like The Rock is nothing more than some Hollywood actor just showing up and becoming champion

Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot that it's called sports entertainment nowadays. Carry on.Gamerforlife wrote: Seeing the Rock less, makes his appearances matter more. What's he gonna do if he's on every show? Tell silly jokes and sing songs?
That championship belt would be worth a lot more if you had to defend it on a weekly basis and not just on PPVs. The value of belts has declined over the years exactly because of that. If you're the champ, you should be forced to defend your title as often as possible. No BS refusing to defend your title/getting yourself DQ'd on purporse.
And no a champion should NOT defend his title as often as possible, because THAT is what devalues the title. A title defense should be a rare thing, something for people to be excited to tune in for or pay tickets for. Unfortunately, wrestling doesn't usually work that way anymore. It did in the old days, where the world title was rarely defended and it was a special event when it was. Today TNA and WWE just give everything away. We have like five WWE shows a week, which is overkill and devalues their entire product, but that's another rant for another day.
