I'm really into monster movies, especialy kaiju.garrett123 wrote:Cloverfield it was actually pretty good
This movie on Blu-Ray with an awesome sound system is amazing.
Having an American Godzilla style movie is amazing, and I hope to see more in the future.

No I haven't, but reading the plot got me a little excited. I'll have to watch a trailer when I get home from work. Looks like it comes out during my summer vacation! Might actually get to see it in theatres.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Against all forces inside me I have decided that I am going to rent The Hobbit and watch it. I am still against them breaking it up into multiple parts but as with any Tolkien book, they must. I am hoping that the movie will help steer my mind from his books being adapted to movie because I find all of the LOTR movies to be extremely boring. Has anyone saw it that also did not like the LOTR movies and enjoyed it?
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)
Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping!

Yeah I am going to give it its fair chance because many of my friends said that it is a masterpiece. The LOTR moves are just walking for ages.....short battle......walking for ages....short battle.....The End. loljinx wrote:

I forgot about the boobs.Ack wrote: As for Beverly Hills Cop's R rating, I figure it was probably due to the topless dancers in the bar in one scene. Sex is more likely to get you a higher rating than violence.
Oh boy, not at all. It's just that I can't separate the word "crawl" from P.Shore.elmagicochrisg wrote: Is this your way of telling me I should watch Son in Law?...

I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece, but The Hobbit is my favorite novel and I think they did a pretty good job. If they had to break it up into parts, it ends at the logical stopping point for Part One, so at least they've thought things through and they know what they're doing.TheSegaSaturnGuy wrote:Yeah I am going to give it its fair chance because many of my friends said that it is a masterpiece.
I'll admit my expectations were pretty high and to be honest, I was somewhat underwhelmed until they got to Rivendell. When I saw the meeting scene with Gandalf and the others and I saw where Peter Jackson is going with this, that's when it clicked for me and now I'm really looking forward to seeing the other two parts.
If you're not a fan of this version, though, then I would recommend the animated film by Rankin/Bass. It retains most of the story and clocks in at 80 minutes, plus the music is awesome.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

An admittedly odd double feature:

First was Girls Will Be Girls, which ironically cast drag queens as pretty much every single female character in the movie.
Quoting Wikipedia:
There's a spinoff web series on Youtube, featuring Buffy alumnus Tom Lenk, as well as a recently Kickstarted sequel in the works (there's also a Tumblr detailing its production).
And what "better" way to follow up such as film like this than with:

What is there to say about this movie on a message board populated with retro gamers?
What they culled from the games is roughly the better part of 10% of the film, while the rest was pulled out of the director's ass (see "Street Fighter", "Mortal Kombat" and pretty much any game-based movie where the plot takes literally 5 seconds to breeze through and is smaller than most fortune cookie fortunes). The other 90% is standard '90s tropes, too many to list, natch.

The film has its LOL moments, but is mostly meh.Girls Will Be Girls is a 2003 film directed by Richard Day.
The film spoofs several films with Hollywood as a subject, including Sunset Boulevard, All About Eve, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, Mommie Dearest and Valley of the Dolls.
All three of the main characters—Evie, Coco and Varla—have existed "on their own" for years prior to the movie. The characters are alter egos of the actors, who created these characters and performed under their drag alter egos for several years. The movie places all three in a narrative situation together.
