Haven't built a rig in ages.
Might post some of my older set-ups sometime this week.
I'm building a new HTPC, and Cara is building a gaming rig this summer.

Id not say that I am ignorant to the fact that they are flashier. I will admit that part of me sees it as vanity, but it is mostly that I do not care to see the insides. For me, there is no reason for me to look at the pieces. Your cable management maybe flawless, and your machine top of the line components, but what really matters is if we have fun playing games. So if you enjoy the window and/or leds/cl lights, thats cool, its just not for me. Its like people that trick out their cars.

For the record I prefer the design of older components over the newer ones (specifically mid 80s components that have a hard feeling like a slight art deco). But since my pc is now placed out of site none of this really matters.

I kind of agree here.
Although I do like a lot of modern cases, the older style is usually more attractive to me. Also, my cable management is terrible. I like a little mesh on some of the newer cases, but just don't like the clear paneling.

I don't put "Windows" on my computers either. I use Linux. (bad pun) :P

I've seriously thought about painting over the window. Otherwise it is a great case with nice ventilation. Since I don't care about seeing inside, I don't care that it isn't easy to stuff cables behind the mobo tray for OCD neat cable management. Also for people complaining that it doesn't have quick snap bullshit for the drives, how often do you add or remove drives? I prefer they stay put with actual screws instead of plastic snap nonsense And it doesn't bother me that much to pull out a cube and then screw in a drive when I do need to.

Does that cover everything you might think I was trolling about? :P

So much confusion. We can all agree to hate on OS/2 though.

Here are some pictures from my old setup. Not much has changed since, except the tower was broken down and sold for parts (We moved shortly after).

This isn't really apart of my "set-up", but I stumbled across it when I was looking for old pictures.
This old fossil used to run my security system at the old place. (Drunk neighbors)
Thought it was hilarious.
