So Bradshaw is saying that single player offline isn't fitting in with their vision for Sim City 5/2013. So being charitable and not throwing that comment on the 'backpedaling nonsense' pile, why didn't they call it 'Sim Cities'? That would mesh with the multiplayer aspect and avoid the annoying 'same name again' problem.

...but our servers are green and we’re seeing record numbers of players all online...

Well yes, technically there will be a record number of players playing the game now that compared to when hardly anyone could get on before. Hooray for vacuous placating statements.

The fact that people couldn't get a refund really bothers me. Really, really bothers me. You don't sell me something that doesn't work and then tell me that I can't have my money back. What's worse is that the majority of people seem placated by their free game. Give me a refund, and if/when you fix your issues I'll make the decision as to whether or not I want to buy in at a later time. That's my decision, not yours.

Now I didn't buy this game (obviously), but that doesn't mean I'm OK with how they've handled their business at all. Unfortunately most consumers aren't like me -- I won't buy EA published games, and I won't sign up to Origin. If I miss a few gems here and there, no problem. There's plenty of other games out there published by companies not quite so intent on having you bend over and then expecting you to thank them for the opportunity.
