Re: Thrift shops/flea markets where u never find anything
I go to thrift stores quite a lot to pass the time, and I look for games every time I go. Not once have I found anything of interest. In my area of Houston, we have 'Goodwill Select' which I have never heard of before moving here. The stores are so tiny compared to back in LA. If I'm lucky enough to spot a game, its usually a sports game for the Ps2.
I'm here for your body.

Lately I haven't found too much at my thrift stores, I had one really good day where I ended up with 3 classic Interplay games, all CIB. Dry spells for me usually end with a week straight of pretty good finds after a month or two.
Since then I've just been buying a bunch of fantasy and sci fi novels that I keep finding at Goodwill.
Its a good idea to have a backup collection or something to keep your eye out for so you might not always go home completely empty handed.

Re: Thrift shops/flea markets where u never find anything
Goodwill in particular has been getting more difficult to find stuff in. Between the shopgoodwill.com auction listings and stores marking up items exponentially, I have not had much success finding items at any of the locations in my area for the past year or so. About three years ago I was out of a job with a newborn and depended on my Goodwill runs to pick up cheap gaming and computer stuff to fix up and resell on Craigslist or eBay. They got wise to what I was doing and steadily started increasing prices. Thankfully I am no longer in a position where I have to depend on reselling stuff to get by, but still it is pretty hard for the collector in me.
