Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So, the PSP I ordered off of ebay is coming with a couple of games, one of which is the PSP remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story.
Is the remake considered particularly good? I know most people seem to like the first two SO games, so I'm willing to at least give this one a shot despite how much I hated the Ps2 one.

It's not bad!
I have it on both PS1 and PSP. The PSP version is basically a port with a few changes.
I played without a walkthrough and missed a ton of stuff, including several characters. There's lots of secrets - just a heads up.
Oh and don't listen to the people who claim the game is 75-100 hours - that's only if you take the time to do every little optional thing there is to do. I was done in like 35.

I've only played the PS1 version but I enjoyed it much more than Till The End of Time on the PS2. The combat in particular, plays a lot better IMHO. It's not nearly as convoluted.

So I want to start playing some battlefield 3 again. I load up origin and I have a 6 GB patch to download on top of the 8 GB's for the last two expansions.
Good god. This is madness.

Welcome to gaming in the modern world, my friend. Why don't you go beat a few old games while your new game updates?

It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that Canada hasn't progressed past the internet stone age.

I didn't have any trouble living in Toronto -- some of the fastest internet I've ever had was right in the downtown core. Until I moved out here to BC, where Shaw gives us a 250mbps service.
Fuck yeah.

Maybe you need to get out of the internet stone age and change subscribers/packages.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
We have high speeds of course but when you compare speed vs price vs bandwidth caps its really not very good compared to other countries.
I do have unlimited bandwidth, but it was a choice between that or faster speeds on my budget. Which should not be the case for a first world country.

That 6 gig patch supposedly removed the blue filter that makes the game look like crap. The game looked so good in beta then they added that stupid filter. What were they thinking? And don't get me started on the sun, if only I could be as gloriously incandescent...
