Yeah but I never got what the big deal is. If I'm 17 and not 18 will that somehow destroy my mind if I play the bad bad game? And don't even get me started on hot coffee for gta san andreas. violence, sure we don't mind but god protect our souls should we see sex at the age of 17, cause sex is the devil's worst weapon.
I liked how people would sue rockstar over that. I remember a grandma who wanted to sue them cause she bought the game for her 10 year old grandson and thinks it's inappropriate for him.....maybe you should have asked what that M means....I still think age ratings work better than letters (though there is a number in small letters, from what I've seen in some american games). I remember browsing through the game section in Fnac when I heard a child pestering it's dad to buy him gta san andreas but he saw the big 18 at the bottom and then checked the behind of the box and told him no it's too violent.

Re: Idiot Gamers: Waggle or Murder
I remember trying to show Rez on my Dreamcast to my mom; to quote Ben Croshaw, "It was like watching a cat try to fly a kite." To make a long story short, we ended up playing Tetris... for a whole hour... on the Wii. While I otherwise have absolutely nothing against the Wii, I do agree that I don't like what it's doing to this generation of gamers. If they have no other experience with other games, they will simply reject the older consoles. However, Nintendo isn't all to blame. For example: When I was trying to get my ousin to play an SNES, the first thing he said, right when I turned on the game was,"These graphics suck. Let's play Halo!". I could almost hear myself cringing. That's where the violence comes in. It almost seems that developers are trying to moreso release a game for shock value rather than actual gameplay. When I was a kid, games could be fun without being bloody. Because nintendo is still around, this can still be possible, but it creates a paradox of sorts, because it brings in more arrogant casual gamers. It's a vicious cycle.
