WTF!?
I've been working on a game design that's a platformer that uses a shovel-like weapon to dig and solve puzzles and such... My game has a different sorta tone to it, but...
...goddammit.
Don't get me wrong, this game looks really awesome, but yeah, just when I thought I had a cool, mostly unique idea on my hands...

You're referring to the cigar, right? So the cigar is from 1844? Or is that just the name of it? I didn't think tobacco could last that long.Luke wrote: An H.Upmann 1844 Vintage Cameroon is a thing of beauty.

Had a similar situation with The Dark Spire. About 4 months into development, I realized this game already existed and scraped all the files. Kind of silly, and wish I hadn't deleted the entire project directory. I'm a terrible programmer, but was quite proud of what I had done up to that point.AppleQueso wrote:

Hahaha, know the feeling, though my game developments have taken some pretty obvious ideas or solutions so I was not surprised to see they were not new.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!

Frown: Argh. There's a 5k "Run for something or other" going on in my neighborhood and for about two hours there has been a flood of people on my street, making leaving the house pretty much impossible. That, and the ACC tournament resumes in about an hour and I have errands to run before tip off.

No letter from the HOA concerning this.

I'm a lifelong runner and I've noticed a recent trend of people signing up for road races just to walk, shoot the shit, push their babies, walk their dogs, etc. It's infuriating - races take forever these days.

No, no no no, don't feel bad at all! It looks really cool, you should absolutely contribute to it if you think it'll be good!Forlorn Drifter wrote:AppleQueso wrote:

I'm just expressing a bit of minor frustration here, that's all. I bear absolutely zero ill will towards these guys, I wish them the best.

That's exactly what this "race" was. The lead in the race was a kid, maybe six years old, who was escorted by police. No one actually ran.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I'm a lifelong runner and I've noticed a recent trend of people signing up for road races just to walk, shoot the shit, push their babies, walk their dogs, etc. It's infuriating - races take forever these days.
I'm fine with it for it apparently there was some charity involved. But at the same time, we usually don't have heavy traffic in our neighborhood, but for crying out loud people still have shit to do. And as you mentioned, the 5k took For-ev-er and I missed half of the NC State game and also had plenty of voice messages consisting of "The fuck is this shit? Getting to your house is taking me a half hour".
Sorry to be a grumpy guss, but the parents and dog owners didn't give a shit about anyone's property. And then there is the litter. Not to rain on their parade; it's awesome to see people get exercise for a good cause, but let a honky know beforehand so he can get his shit done.

I came up with an idea for a superhero school, and Disney later did a movie in the same idea, but mine was better.jinx wrote:Had a similar situation with The Dark Spire. Similarly, I've always imagined an action-RPG with a restaurant sim element, and there's one out for Android.
