Pixeljunk Eden has a great demo that you can really play for a while and get into. Check if out if you are looking for a DL title.

I just downloaded Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction. and i love it! Also the Pure Demo is really fun. But i just can't seem to find a game like Uncharted. So far that's my favorite game.

I know, its hard to find a game period that matches the production values of Uncharted, except well, Metal Gear Solid 4!

In addition to what's been mentioned, I'd add Super Stardust HD and/or Everyday Shooter as great PSN downloads. You should also pick up Call of Duty 4 and (maybe) Devil May Cry 4. Virtua Fighter 5 is worth a look and can be found for under $20.

I have MGS4 ($40) and GT5:P ($28) for sale right now as I've played through both of them. If you want, I'll sell them both to you for $65 shipped.

I also second Stardust HD. Awesome awesome game. Far too addictive though. Think: Asteroids crossed with Robotron crossed with Super Mario Galaxy with a garnish of Geometry Wars.

Pixel junk monsters is extremely addictive. Another awesome game from PSN.

Give Calling All Cars a go. I enjoyed it immensely. It's very short on the 1player side as the AI isn't the sharpest tool in the box. Multiplayer is very fun though.

Retail-wise:
I'd hold out on motorstorm and wait for motorstorm 2, apparantly they've fixed a lot of the problems with the first game (IE hideously unbalanced cars, very unforgiving AI and the lack of local multiplayer). It may be worth getting the first one if you can find it cheap but don't go in with high expectations and you'll probably enjoy it.

Other than that there's nothing exclusive that's worth mentioning that hasn't been said already.

Check out the high scoring multi platform games on metacritic.

don't know if you like fps, but if you do, i think you will have lots of fun and a ton of value with the half life 2: orange box. you won't regret it. heck buy it for portal alone. it's only 30 dollars now i think.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Don't buy it on the PS3. Get it for PC.

PLEASE don't buy it on the PS3. It's terrible. Load times are awful and the sixaxis sucks balls for FPS.

I can run HL2 on max on my oooold pc at a fair pace. I'm running an athlon xp 2800 1GB ram and a Geforce 6800 GT. The game will run on practically any PC. I've had it run well on a Geforce 440MX for crying out loud. So saying you don't have a PC that is capable is bullshit.

Not using a Windows OS isn't even an excuse, Half life 2 is one of the most well supported games under virtualisation software like cadega/wine or crossover mac.

This. Though I'd argue that the Xbox controller is no better than the Sixaxis. Regardless, get it for the PC.

I second the "buy it for the PC" chorus, but I would like to point out that most complaints about the PS3 version are nitpicking at best. At it's worst, when it first came out, internet whiners went into conniption fits.

The problems were vastly overstated, and would have hardly been noticed if you didn't play a different version (I played the 360 and PS3 versions, and the difference was negligible). Frame rate issues were concentrated in a few areas in HL2, and loading times lasted 3 - 4 seconds longer than the 360 version. And gametrailers released their typical low-res comparison video to throw gasoline on the fire.

Silly internet.

I didn't realize there were differences that even approach the magnitude of the fact that the PC lets you use a keyboard and mouse. I mean, isn't that the only difference you need to pick it up on PC?
