playing persona 2 innocent sin

Post by env963 »

I've been pumped up to play this on my psp for a while now. I have about 2 or 3 hours in. I'm so dissapointed that I'm not liking it. Waaaaaaay to many random encounters. I am liking the story and changed the battle to auto to speed things up. But now i feel like I need to force myself to play. Probably going to shelve this one. How is persona 3 on the psp?

It's a good game, but stripped down from the ps2 version.

I was thinking of picking up Innocent Sin but figured I would try some of the other SMT games first because of the lackluster reviews.

Curious though. How is P3P stripped down? Besides graphically, of course.

I thought persona 3 portable had a bunch of bonus stuff? and it tied the plot together better with persona 4. I think P3P is the definitive version.

The only thing that's stripped down is the 3D walking around school/town sections; you instead jump to the various shops and rooms you want to visit, and inside rooms you have a 2D view of the characters and can select them with your cursor.

The anime cut-scenes of the PS2 version were also heavily watered down to still-images w/ sfx + music for P3P.

But P3P lets you control your party during combat or play as a girl; things not possible in the PS2 game.
