I'm kind of jealous man - I wish I could experience those games all over again haha.

But yeah, just to reiterate - play the Breath of Fire games in order. The plots may only be tenuously connected, but they do relate to one another. It's not quite like Final Fantasy where you can jump around.

Part I is straightforward and a bit tedious, but has an incredible atmosphere. Part II....... my god is it weird. One of the most botched translation jobs of all time. Awesome game though.

Just started Ys Seven today. Holy crap was the first boss difficult. This is my first time trying a Ys game. So far not bad at all.

Man I know, I love playing it on Nightmare mode. On bosses you have to turbo tap the guard button just to make it through!

I forget if grinding helps, I'm pretty sure It did. :)
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

I'm going through as many Dragon Warriors/Quests as I can before I get distracted with something else. I just beat 1 and I'm in the middle of 2 (the Game Boy Color versions). I never did finish it back in the day. Maybe the nostalgia's fogging my experience, but I'm having a lot of fun. I've always found level grinding to be incredibly relaxing, and I have been very relaxed lately.

Yeah, well, now the problem is figuring out what order to play them all in! Anyway, thanks for the advice. I will play through the first before I get into the second.

Does Dwarf Fortress count as an RPG? It's kind of SRPG I guess.

It's really addictive once you get the hang of things.

How long is Ys Seven? And how long are Ys games in general? Definitely enjoying the battle system. The story is decent. Nothing special. I'm liking it a lot more than Ni no Kuni. It is more to the point.

Any other recommendations for PSP games that are available on PSN/Vita would be great. :)

Also started Devil Summoner for PS2 last night. Battle system is a bit 'meh', but the game seems pretty interesting. Also liking that more than Ni no Kuni. Needless to say, I sold Ni no Kuni.

Ys Seven is about 25 hours, as I recall. It's the longest Ys game by far. Ys I takes like six hours. 8)
