There are people I'd rather see winning the Undertaker, but given the current roster, I think he's the best candidate. HHH would have been a nice pick, but now it's too late.
I don't believe in the whole "vanilla midget" thing (Kevin Nash), but I still think that an "every day guy" like CM Punk should not be the one. Lesnar on the other hand is a monster. He has destroyed alot of people in "real wrestling" and MMA, and would probably continue to do so if it wasn't for his health problems. In other words he really is a badass and damn scary in real life.
Gamerforlife wrote: Lesnar/Taker would have to be a brutal match, nothing pretty about it. I don't know if Taker can handle that at his age and in his physical condition. Although they could have Lesnar go old school and wrestle like he did years ago on Smackdown, instead of that UFC inspired fighting style we see him use now.
I don't think his old style is any more gentle than the MMA stuff. If anything it's easier to be gentle to your opponent that way than by doing his old wrestling moves. He broke Hardocre Holly's and almost broke A-Trains neck. His style was intense and he absolutely destroyed people, Goldberg is the only one who could squash opponents as believably and intensely and as he did (but Goldberg didn't have the stamina nor the technique to have a 25+ minute match with a guy like Kurt Angle). Lesnar's old style was nothing like the laidback old school wrestling style, it was intense and he did a lot of really powerful, hard hitting slams and suplexes. He was basically a Chris Benoit with Goldberg's physique and strength&speed.

It might look like I'm a huge Brock Lesnar fanboy but I'm not. He really is one of the few people who manages to be a good fighter (not just strong but really fast&agile for his size and technical) and also have the impressive muscular "roid" look of a heavyweight pro wrestler (most good MMA fighters like Fedor Emelianenko have relatively normal bodies). I'd even argue that he is the best, or atleast the most physically intense, monster heel of all time. Sure he isn't as big as he used to be back during the Ruthless Aggression era, but I'm sure he could get back in that shape if he had a year time to prepare and wrestle in the WWE.

Those are good points, and I agree that it's not hard to sell people on the idea that Brock could end the streak, especially if he went over on Triple H again. I'm not totally against a Lesnar win. He's just not the first guy I would think of to do it. Story wise, I think Kane makes the most sense, but there's so many other reasons for why he can't be the one to end the streak. He's not really a top guy any more. He's fought Taker too many times already. He's too comedic at the moment. And lastly, I don't think he could have a five star classic with Taker. When you think about it logically though. The guy with supernatural powers who knows Taker better than any one should be the guy who can beat him.

I really hope the streak ends within the next 3 years, before Taker has to hang it up. I've heard all the arguments for him retiring with the streak. The way I see it though, wrestling is all about building things up, then knocking them down. That's how you get your memorable moments

You have a guy hold the title for a long time, so that it creates a memorable moment when he finally loses it. You have a group of heels like The Shield destroy every baby face for months, so that you have a memorable moment when somebody finally takes them down. That's how wrestling works. We live for those, "Holy shit!" moments. Imagine the day the streak ends. People who bought tickets to go to that Wrestlemania are going to remember that moment for the rest of their lives. Imagine the crowd reaction after the three count and the looks on people's faces. They need to get the camera on as many of those people as they can in that moment and show those shots for the next couple of weeks to really emphasize what an amazing and historic moment it was when the streak ended, and emphasize the reason why you damn well SHOULD buy tickets for a Wrestlemania show. You never know when something amazing like that might happen

I think like a story teller and every good story needs that moment that shocks people or an incredible climax. Taker's story needs to end with someone finally beating him in an epic encounter that no one will ever forget.

And somebody needs to be taken to that next level that only something like a Taker win would give him. If Punk were that guy, that'd be his all time greatest career achievement that everyone would forever remember him for. Somebody needs to get that rub, and it doesn't necessarily have to be Punk. He just seems like one of the best options right now. As much as I like Lesnar, I don't think he's earned that.

I truly believe that if Taker retires with the streak intact, the WWE will have yet again, pissed away an amazing opportunity. It certainly wouldn't be the first time.

I'm way late on this, I know. I'm so behind on my T.V. watching. My DVR is up to like 80%.

I finally watched the Old-School Raw from last week, last night.

Seeing Undertaker back, was awesome. His entrance still gets me excited. Best entrance in wrestling history, bar none.

The New Age Outlaws stole the entire show, though. They still got it! They looked in shape, and looked good in that ring. And they got that crowd up and on their feet. Gotta admit, I geeked out like a little kid when I saw them, too. I've seen Road Dogg around the backstage area through the years. But where the hell has Billy Gunn been? From his in-ring skill I saw, and the shape he was in, I'd wager he's still an active wrestler somewhere.

The rest of it was kind of, meh. The other old guys were far too old and out of practice. And most of the regular matches were run-of-the-mill.

I sort of wonder why Sean Waltman (X-Pac) doesn't just come out with them. He doesn't even have to wrestle, just be at ring side. He's still in fairly good shape, he probably could wrestle if they wanted him to.

I really like how they used the New Age Outlaws this past Monday

The WWE must not have asked him. I'm sure if they did, he'd be there. He's worked indy dates and was on Twitter tweeting about RAW last night.

Of course he would of been there. I'm pretty sure he sits by the phone all day getting high just hoping Triple H will call him because his friends with actual talent are going to be on TV and they need the expert crotch chopper.

Chyna wasn't the only ex-member of D-X to star in porn. I'm thinking WWE probably wants to distance themselves from both of them for that reason.

Does it matter? They had him on the 1000th episode with DX, and he's been in a video on WWE.com with Hunter, Nash, HBK and I think the New Age Outlaws too

Sean Waltman doesn't have talent? That's news to me. He knows a lot about the business too

I guess not.

I thought WWE was going for the PG image, still.
