Re: Sega CD is dead
I recently had the same problem, and it seems that a blown fuse is the most common problem.
Just yesterday I finally found and replaced the fuse, but until then I bypassed it and all worked fine.
The fuse is back by the power supply labeled "F301"
picture here: http://www.mrvfone.com.au/sega/fuse.htm. Look for #4 in that link.
If you can't find the fuse because it is hard you can do what I did for a while. I cut the green fuse out then bend the two leads so that they are touching, then solder them together or use electrical tape.
Just remember the fuse is/was there for a reason so bypassing it works but it scares me....
I hope this helps, keep us posted.
p.s. the main reason these fuses blow is because of the wrong power supply (like an NES one) being plugged into the Sega CD or power surge.
