The NES lightgun gamers are mostly pretty good, but avoid To the Earth like the plague. It's WAY too difficult, will make you physically sore from playing it and it's not even that unique.
If you like 8-bit light gun shooters, check out the ones on the Sega Master System as well. Taito's Space Gun, Gangster Town and a few others are absolute classics. Safari Hunt? Not so much.

Not really much into the Master System. I do plan on either getting a Stunner for my Saturn or a Justifier for my Genesis soon though. 
But that'll be a whole different thread when the time comes.
As for the nes NES Lightgun games I get, I think I'm going to go for Hogan's Alley, Wild Gunman, and Bayou Billy then stop right there. So far I've got Trick Shooting and Freedom Force and those two seem like they're going to be my favorite. Trick Shooting's one from my childhood so I had to get that. Somebody like Sivak needs to come along and make some more awesome lightgun games for the NES.
