My college girlfriend was from a Southern Baptist family. No alcohol ever or in the house. Not even cooking alcohol. I'm sure if they were in a situation to be handing alcohol to others they'd give disapproving looks or include people in their prayers, but they wouldn't go so far as to refuse to touch it. After all, they didn't chase me out of the house with a shotgun when they found out I was an atheist at dinner or forbid their daughter from associating with me.

So yeah, if you have a reason for not even wanting to touch it at all, a job where that's pretty likely is no good.

Yeah basically that's the difference between good, smart people and not, in my book. How are you supposed to reach sinners if you won't even associate with them? How does acting like a fool and spilling beer everywhere, cause you won't touch it, help people come to your religion? Silly stuff.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

My In Laws might have a glass of wine, but they don't own wine glasses. My Mother in-law always rolls her eyes or sighs when passing Aunt Betty's Cabinet.

They are intelligent, influential, and affluent to boot, but they make an instant and incorrect association with anyone who has a drink from time to time. I agree with HST's infamous quote to a point that somethings might not work for everyone, but they work for some people.

I personally don't drink, possibly because in the back of my mind, I remember when my parents drank and iirc fight with each other. And a little bit closer in my mind, I probably also see how my father's recent drinking has affected himself and us as well.

I also don't see myself being tolerant of my kids, God willing, getting caught drinking. Not just because I remember how my parents used to drink and how a few others in my life drink and how it has affected them.

:( My unemployment hasn't been deposited yet, even though it's almost 2pm. Hopefully I won't have to wait until tomorrow to get it. And I checked and it was processed yesterday. But I filed relatively late (somewhere between 1 and 2, though I also forgot to set my watch ahead).

Ticked me off: getting guff from my fiancee for not wanting to go see her mom (she always has drama going on in her life, and is soo dramatic, a real Debbie downer)

Smiled: my birthday is in two days (03/13)

Just had some fun with a telemarketer.
He calls and says a word or two and I cut him off.
"HAVE YOU ACCEPTED OUR DARK LORD SATAN INTO YOUR HEART?"
Needless to say he hang up instantly after.

The cashier stopped bagging with the beer, and said "You scan this, I won't touch it".
While I'm sure it was for some silly reason as you pointed out, it is possible that she just wanted to be lazy and not call over a manager to scan the item because she was 20.

:) Packed up my game consoles, but...

:( Didn't have room for my modded PS1 (thanks again, wclem), PS2, N64, PS1 Arcade Stick or my DreamCast keyboard. I also took out all the cables and etc and put them into a separate tote, in an attempt to maximize my limited space.

I still gotta buy another tote for the last of my shit, including my Xbox 360 (packing that last) and my Wii, along with some of my less-than-travel-friendly computer accessories (external hard drive for one) and some other shit.
