Yeah you could actually dupe items with the NPC Stockpile Thomas...

All right. Time to jot down a few thoughts.

First of all, the game is visually impressive. Demon's Souls didn't look that good and only used the colors gray, brown, yellow, and blue for most of the game. The environments in Dark Souls each feel and look different. I'm not getting the "oh look, another dark cave" feeling in Dark Souls.

I don't know what they did but I've been able to use practically every weapon thus far (effectively, at that!). Going spear/tower shield the whole game in Demon's Souls was a little boring... I'm glad I get to try new things!

I like the open-ness of this game; it masks its linearity a lot better than Demon's Souls.
And it seems to have more branching paths and places to explore.

Also, I've found Dark Souls to be much easier than Demon's Souls. Although I feel that is due to Demon's Souls training me to look for the traps and ambushes placed by the developers.

I definitely was not expecting the Capra Demon and two poison dogs to rush me as soon as I traversed the fog.
I beat him the first try though; so there's something at least.

Haha, quickly killing the dogs is like 90% of that battle.
Good job, that one gave me trouble my first time through.

Being cursed sucks!

It's like I'm back in Demon's Souls!
And the sewer dragon was kind of a push over.

I hated that too. I would always unleash the wrath of a thousand suns on those annoying things that curse you asap.

It kind of sucks too, because it has one of my favorite boss designs in the whole game.

It had great design. When the head first popped up out of the water I thought "huh, an alligator. I can take this thing." then the body comes out. "OH SHIT. How am I going to kill this thing?"

And then I found out it moves slow enough where circle-strafing avoids most of its attacks.

It was a pretty underwhelming fight.

I skipped over the Depths to move on, but I think I might go back and go through it again. I haven't gone through it yet, so I probably should. I'm currently in Blighttown, so I'll have to go human so I can grab some summons for Queelaag.
