There will be absolutely no sleeping tonight.
My "guests" left quite a mess when they moved out, so I'm pretty busy now myself.

I'm just looking for work, but not in a field I worked in prior, so no grocery or dishwashing. I will make a concession for baking (while I was hired as a dishwasher, I also helped in the kitchen at Orange Blossom, having made the donuts and made, mostly fried, the Apple Uglies), as well as working in an ice cream shop. And like I said before, I'm just looking for work, but one major priority is to try to find a job at a place with a location in NYC so I can transfer when I move. Another priority is to rack up job skills to help me get a job when I get up there (I plan on getting two jobs). Thank God for Craigslist.

And as for why not a more rural area... less jobs. Plus my brother's ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of his first daughter, lives down there and it'll make things easier. Before, my brother would either have to pick up his daughter from Orlando or just the airport. And the place we're moving into is in the same area as the ex-girlfriend's grandparents (who she lives with), and it was her grandmother who helped get my mom a job at Disney World. My brother's got tattoos so he can't work there or something. And I just choose not work there.

:D Oh, and on the packing front, I have just one major "job" to take care of. By that, I mean just one portion of my stuff, in this case my game consoles. I have boxes for each console (they're just shoeboxes, but still), except my Wii (I might have a plastic tote for that), Xbox 360 (gotta figure that one out) and Model-2 Genesis with Model-2 Sega CD (so far everything's been too small... damn its excessive length).

:( Still gotta take care of so much after that. I gotta schedule a shut-off date for my CenturyLink (IDK if they have that service in Orlando, but I may just move to a different ISP), try to sell off more of my shit (though I might just give up on trying to sell it here and just sell it when I get to Orlando, where a higher population means a better chance of selling it all), go through and pack up the rest of my things, close my bank account at my current bank and put all the money into my account at my other bank, and so much more.

Run up to the post office and nab a few large flat rate boxes.

Most consoles fit perfectly into a medium flat rate box.

Actually, I don't really like the idea of using cardboard boxes for this. That's why I'm keeping an eye out for a plastic tote. I mean, when it's been out-of-production for the better part of 20 years and a "good price" for a heavily-used Sega CD that probably didn't even come from its original owner is at least $50, it's kinda hard to put my confidence in something made from the same material as the Sunday comics.

You could always just hold the sega cd in your lap the whole ride there!

I assume you're going by plane or something? I've only ever travelled via car.

By car. I wish it was plane, since I've never been on one.

And the car might not have enough room for my laptop, much less something I'll never use in the car. Maybe I'll get a CDX between now and moving to NYC.

Frown: I'm going to have to wear socks over my hands before going to bed as when I sleep I scratch the nonsense out of my face. Stress is a mutha. I've tried taking aspirin before I get into bed, but it hasn't changed anything. I'll end up scarring my face if I don't do something about it.

Smile! Instant karma.

Just got back from running a few quick errands, one including a trip to Wal*Mart. Among other things I picked up a six pack of beer to share with my wife for Monday RAW.

The cashier stopped bagging with the beer, and said "You scan this, I won't touch it".

That didn't bother me too much. A bit, but not too much. I mean, the lady may have been an alchie, her religion doesn't allow booze, or whatever. But her job is to scan and bag items. If she can't do either, that shouldn't be her job. I didn't mind scanning the beer and placing it on top of the bag carousel (best and worst invention in the past few years), but she gave me a bit of an attitude which I really didn't care for. She probably won't scan condoms either. Nothing to get in a tizzy from, but sheesh, do your job.

So as she turns the bagging carousel at my final check out, she knocks over the bottled beer, creating an unwanted beer fountain on me, her, and a Mother who was waiting in line.

Well, maybe not a "beer fountain", but it made a mess and beer did splash on us. Someone (don't think it was the manager) came over, cleaned up the mess, and gave me a 12 pack instead of a sixer and also apologized (which wasn't necessary).

The biggest frown about the situation is that the lines at my local Wal*Mart will already guarantee you a ten minute wait. This debacle made people wait an extra ten minutes because the cashier refused to do her job.

That there's the devil's elixir! I'm not touching it! Weird. You'd think if you objected to such things, you wouldn't work in a place where they were sold.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a common occurrence.

I'm not 100% informed on all religious beliefs, but we have tons of Amish and Mennonites who shop at Wal*Mart, and I'm pretty sure going to a store that sells booze is a no-no. And "hell's no" I don't want to turn this in to a religious conversation, but if your religion says "You can't be around booze" then don't go to a Wal*Mart that sells it. It's like saying "Yes, it was a crack house and I don't advocate crack, but their Blu Ray players are dirt cheap!".

Oh well. Smile: Free six pack.
