Finished watching Downton Abbey. I enjoy period dramas so I liked it even though it felt a bit like a soap opera.
Just started watching Oz, HBO's first in-house production. I'm a bit annoyed with the blurry camera work.
So what have you guys been watching lately?

I recall the fuzzy camera at first too, but it sorta adds to the charm of feeling like it's being recorded in a prison and afterwhile, you don't even realize it any longer. Really good show, but the language is not for the faint of heart.

Did you watch the final episode (so far) tho? The Season 3 Christmas Special?

Yes, I did. I didn't realize that it existed until a week after I thought I had finished season 3. It was interesting how they had to kill off some people in season 3 because their contract was ending and they wanted to move on from the show.indecks wrote:gtmtnbiker wrote:Finished watching Downton Abbey. Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?
Been watching a lot of Friday Night Lights, it's a great show and I'm totally hooked on it.
I watched the series finales of Green Lantern and Young Justice. Unintentional or not, it seems like a slap to the face of fans that there was a commercial during one of the shows advertising all new episodes next week. Both finales were good and they each hit some emotional high notes. What's sad is that you could see the YJ finale setting things up for another season. Both shows brought a sense of closure while still leaving enough to make you want more episodes. I'm sad to see these two shows go, especially Green Lantern. Young Justice has brought its A game with its last few episodes, but Green Lantern has just been on a whole other level entirely. Both these shows made DC fans proud though. Thanks a lot Cartoon Network
Once Upon a Time and Nikita have been awesome. Two very consistent shows right there. Walking Dead has been kind of up and down season. Awesome one moment, tepid the next. I hope the season will wrap up in a satisfying way. The episode "Clear" was a real high point, not just for the season but the whole series
I think I'm going to pop in my Veronica Mars season 3 DVDs once I get off this Friday Night Lights kick. The recent news about the Veronica Mars movie has motivated me to do so. I have hope now for an eventual Serenity 2 given recent comments by Joss Whedon and am very excited by the way kickstarters are changing the game. Veronica Mars can now join that small group of TV shows that have returned from death like a Phoenix
Game of Thrones is coming back later this month I believe. I can't wait!

At this moment, I'm streaming episodes of X-Men TAS off of NetFlix. It's easily one of the best Saturday morning cartoons of the '90s (alongside The Tick, Batman TAS, Spider-Man TAS, Sonic SatAM, and while not cartoons, Power Rangers and VR Troopers).-

FNL is totally underrated. Such a great show.Gamerforlife wrote:Been watching a lot of Friday Night Lights, it's a great show and I'm totally hooked on it.
So! Here's something you guys can poke fun at me for: I've been watching a bunch of The Golden Girls lately. Growing up I wasn't allowed to watch it as my Mother said it "was too raunchy". Turns out she was right. I had no idea the show is basically about three horny seniors and their hilarious Mother.
The show is quite risque, clever, and full of double entendres. It's also quite silly, so there is that, but it was filmed in front of a live audience so when people get the innuendos, the laughs are a plenty.
My wife disagrees, but I say Full House totally ripped the show off. There's a "funny" one, a "flirty" one, and a tall "responsible" one.

Poke fun? For watching the Golden Girls? Of course not!
Man that's one of my favorite shows! It was hilarious! I still want to get the DVDs. I think its one of the best shows of the late 80s/early 90s.

It's pretty hilarious, and I love how the show is nothing like you would expect it to be. Plus, TV land is hosting a Golden Girl Marathon later today that will help me catch up on the show, as I know little to nothing about it.
