NES Lightgun Games?

Post by WrathOskvro »

I know this has probably been said before, and I have googled/youtubed around. My main question is am I missing anything? I recently got an NES, don't know squat about the lightgun games on it other than a few obvious ones. So far the only ones I know of are:

Duck Hunt
Trick Shooting
Freedom Force
Gumshoe
Hogan's Alley
Wild Gunman
To The Earth

Any others I should give a look to?

Chiller

I have not played it myself but it seems like one I need to try.

Now don't forget to update your post with more games so we can get a defiant list going.

There's a few more --

Shooting Range
Operation Wolf (optional)
Mechanized Attack (optional)
Gotcha! The Sport

Will do. I checked out Chiller and while it's kinda cool being that it's supposed to be gorey and stuff it's kinda..really..mediocre. Gotcha doesn't look too bad. Kind of reminds me of Freedom Force just in a different environment.

You need Mechanized Attack by SNK. Based on the arcade game of the same name, it is easily the best Zapper game on the NES. Think Operation Wolf if it were actually good.

That does look pretty good despite the same music track playing in every level :P I'll give that one a shot. I like the fact that it's a bit more fast paced

Trying to use the d-pad on the zapper part is just terrible, though. Bayou Billy gets a lot of flack, but I think it's great. Part beatemup, part zapper, part racing, what can go wrong?

Chiller looks awesome. Pat the NES Punk did a whole video about it.

I wouldn't recommend Gotcha. The game forces you to control with both your lightgun and gamepad simultaneously. Even as a kid, I thought it was horrid. Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, and Hogan's Alley are all absolute classics however.
