PSP Remote Play

Post by SpaceBooger »

Can someone explain the advantage of this?
The only thing I can think of right now is to save space on my memory stick (4gb) by playing Wild Arms and other PSOne games on the PSP via Remote Play, right?

Well it will also play select PS3 games too, that aren't available for PSP. Like Lair.

So if I have a PSOne classic (Wild Arms) installed on my PS3 I don't need it on my PSP's memory stick... that would save some room.
I'll have to look for a compatibility list later.
Thanks.

I think the idea was to let you play something if the TV was busy, or as a starter platform as using the PSP as some sort of controller device (something that's being realized with Vita)

All in all, it's not very good. The video is terrible, it's slow, and barely works with anything.

It's probably not worth the trouble, just eat the cost of a memory stick (if you can find one :S)

Yeah I think it works better with the Vita personally, 2nd analog stick and better firmware/hardware.

It's not just PSOne Classics that are installed to your PS3, you can play any of your PS1 discs too.

Technically you can do other stuff with it, like media playback, that would probably be more useful if practically every other device on the market couldn't do it too.

I have played around with the remote play myself. I have tried with "retrograde", and a few others, but i found the lag so bad that its even hard to play with. And it took the fun right out of it.

Honestly PSP memory is cheap right now. Just buy another memory card. 8GB around $20.

Currently i have a 32GB and a 16GB and the 32GB is full and the 16GB is 3/4 full. Psone classics eat up alot of room. :D

So if I have FFIX discs I can put them in the PS3 and play them on my PSP?

Should be able to. I only tried a couple games with it a while back to mess around with the feature, but far as I know there's no restrictions on Playstation games. It's the PS3 titles that need to actually support Remote Play to work.
