For some reason I'm a little obsessed with this game. I never really liked it much when it came out (didn't fit into my expectations of a fun time), but the concept and graphics really appeal to me now.
The PSP is getting a collection of old stuff soon, including this game (and Road Rash, Wing Commander, etc) so I'll probably snag that.
In the meantime, what's a good console version? Is there a standout among the SNES, Genesis, 3DO, or Jaguar versions, or are they all pretty much the same?
What's the best version of SYNDICATE?

Play a Amiga or PC version over those, if you can. I never played any of the console versions, but controlling with the mouse has to be better than gamepad, and probably those versions have better graphics as well.Flojomojo wrote:For some reason I'm a little obsessed with this game. It has been a while since I played it, but I don't think you need to use the keyboard other than for typing the save game names and customizing your corporation. The original Syndy (for short) didn't allow changing of camera angles as far as I recall, so it's all mouse 99% of the time. The keyboard functions I remember is the one where you self-destruct a cyborg, the pause button, and Esc to abort.Flojomojo wrote:I can probably snag the PC or Mac version easily enough, but hunching over a keyboard feels like work to me, not a game, so I like consoles ...
It's not a flight sim, by all means. Honestly, playing Syndy without a mouse seems to me like playing Virtua Cop without the light gun, or something like that - but I'm too used to computers for that sort of game.
