GIANT frown: I was denied for unemployment back in December and I've been waiting for an appeal hearing. They finally scheduled one a couple weeks from now and when I look at what my previous employer sent to the unemployment office, I realize that the reason I was denied is because they flat out lied about why they fired me and told them that I said and did things I would never say or do in an attempt to make me look like a horrible bigot. The only reason I can think of why they would do that is if they were intentionally trying to make me unemployable. If they had simply decided that they didn't want me around anymore, I'd have been fine with that because I'm not usually the grudge-holding type, but this seriously crosses the line.

They might want to avoid having their unemployment insurance rates increase. You could fight them on that.

If you take them to court though, they will be innocent until proven guilty. You're not on trial, so it won't matter if you were guilty or innocent in regards to what they said about you (which is infuriating). Track down other former employees and see if you can find a consistent pattern to them doing this to people, or find evidence that they held a specific grudge against you that would lead to this vendetta.

If you decide to take legal action, you should probably speak with your local legal aid chapter. A "he said/she said" matter like this would be a difficult case, and the low monetary value makes it unlikely that any private attorney would take it. A non-profit firm, like legal aid, does not have the same sort of conerns as a private attorney, however, and probably has a lot of experience in this area. (My brother actually did this exact sort of work when he was employed by legal aid.)

In any event, I am sorry to hear about your unemployement situation, and I hope that you can get it sorted out. (I do not know what sort of appeal period there is for the denial of unemployment benefits, however; so, if you do decide to take action, you should do so quickly.)

The pawn shop's no longer buying demo discs since they're not selling well. I wish I would have known this would have happened. I still have about 32 Xbox 360 discs and about 20 PS2 discs.

Also means you probably have to drop over $200 on a tux rental. And usually that tux is worth $50 and the shoes look like ass.

I highly suggest buying a tux if you can afford it. Most tux's match, and all you have to rent in the future is usually a vest. Plus, you never know when you might need a tux. Corporate functions, white glove events, or maybe you just want to dress up like 007 for no particular reason.

I really wouldn't worry about it too much. We all grew up in the ghetto and as such we all have our own brand of cheaper "class". Salvation Army here we gooooo!

Spent about two separate years on various boards all over the place there. Terrible.

Meh vg (video game general) is useful when I need a hand in Dark Souls or a squad in Battlefield. I prefer 4chan over Reddit though. Reddit just has a stupid layout it doesn't make any sense to me, and the whole idea of up votes pushing content to the top just makes the site seem like a circle jerk to me.

It's funnier because I've had my 3ds for 15 months now and in all that time NEVER opened up the eshop.
