Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F (Vita/PS3)

Post by ZenErik »

Not sure if anyone else plays these games, but they are very solid and accessible rhythm games. Import only as of now.

Vita version has been out since the end of August. PS3 version is out tomorrow 3/7/13. My copy has already shipped. :) And hopefully my arcade controller will ship soon as well.

This is it:

There is also a more babytime controller available:

And the regular PS3 controller works just as well.

Here is a video of a song if you are interested. One of tougher ones. This person used a help item for that perfect so it hardly counts. But this should give you an idea of what the game is like.

My B/S/T thread! :)

I just watched this long preview video that has clips from all of the songs.

The game looks great to me, but I'm very fascinated by the vocaloid technology that gets these virtual pop stars to sing. How does the gameplay work on this game? I don't understand what all the spinning symbols mean. Are you supposed to rotate your analog stick in sync with the music?

It looks like a button-based version of Ose! Take! Ouendan! (Elite Beat Agents in the US). You have to press the appropriate button or direction once the flying symbol meets up with the silhouette on the canvas. I believe the spinning line is a ticking timer for how long before the symbols match up.

The spinning symbols are there for help they work like a timer that lets you know in what moment you have to press the button. Sometime you have to press the button hold it down for a while and then press it again.

I played the project diva on psp but never tried the second on because the dpad on my psp is not working properly :/

I absolutely loved Project Diva on the PSP. I'm normally not one for rhythm games, but this one is very solid and enjoyable.

I saw the controllers on play-asia the other night and was curious, but forgot to look it up.

It seems that Sega might actually bring this over. I know everyone was excited when it was shown at E3 last year, but now they are talking about it on their Facebook page.

They are already up to 4,700 likes on their page for the post.

It will be interesting to see if this really happens.

I'm very surprised. I will re-buy both the Vita and PS3 versions if it does. Easier access to DLC! Plus having English menus would be nice. Not necessary for the rhythm portion. Useful for making edit plays and while leveling everyone up in their rooms, haha.

The Project Diva games are awesome. I hope it gets released here, but I'll be sharing the Japanese PSN version with a friend.

I beat every song in Project Diva EXtend and thought it was awesome. The music is pretty good too! I'll listen to any kind of music if it's quality. The technology, the song writing, and the grassroots Vocaloid community are all fascinating to me. I had known about this all for a while, but never gave it a chance until I started playing that game.

There are thousands of terrible songs on youtube, hacked together by anime fans rather than musicians, but Sega picked the best of the best.

This weekend they're having a sale on those arcade controllers at a local game shop for 8980 yen (about $95). I am kinda tempted, but also the price is a bit steep for a controller that can only be used with one game. I'll pick up the PS3 game for sure once it hits the used game shelves.

I think this game looks really good, and I'm hoping a lot that it get's localized.
