Ditto.
I was slightly annoyed by the lack of adjustments to the World Tour Mode, but that's about my only complaint. It's a great sequel.

I have it. Love it. Love being able to play world tour alone and or online.

Still waiting out my month before the timed exclusive finishes and I can get my PS3 bundle.

Well you are in for a treat. I still need to buy a new drum kit but the guitar and vocals feel more natural. Really, 85 songs for just 60 dollars is a steal. The Battle of the Bands mode is really great and the tour challenges are good for playing by yourself.

Got it here.. I love the new songs [Interpol, L7, Alice in Chains] and I love the new calibration feature, works like a charm. I know you can import all the old songs from RB1 in to RB2 ...by why does it cost 5$ to do so? ..

Re: Anybody get Rock Band 2 yet?
From a legal perspective, Harmonix has paid the artists X amount of dollars to use their music for the Rock Band video game. They cannot legally transfer the music to a different game, as the rights would have been written up specifically to be having the music on the disc. The DLC would have slightly looser language that would involve the rights to offer a download of the music for their music games. To allow for the transfer of music from RB1 to 2, they need to negotiate a new contract, and had to provide more money to the publisher to expand those rights to move the music onto RB2. Because of these legal issues, they weren't able to allow us to transfer a few songs, as the contracts couldn't get ironed out.

This is right. Think about what a-holes the the recording industry has been ever since Napster came on the scene. They are absolute Nazis about copyright issues. Harmonix had to negotiate something in order to get it to transfer over. I'm actually surprised they got anything at all, and to be honest I don't think five bucks is a bad price for it.MrPopo wrote:From a legal perspective, Harmonix has paid the artists X amount of dollars to use their music for the Rock Band video game. Sucks to have to pay for it, but at least the got it done. Blame the record companies.
Re: Anybody get Rock Band 2 yet?
Well, it's not necessarily the record companies. The artists are also involved in said negotiations. That's why we don't have Zeppelin yet; the band is very protective of their music and rarely licenses it out for anything. But I would imagine in this case that the main reason it costs $5 is due to the record companies. Fully within their rights, and the reason it's probably so cheap is that they already get the larger amount to them from the RB1 purchase. The $5 is just icing on the cake for them.
