Ps3 found on Craiglist really broken?

Post by MoNsTeRzKHAOS »

Original Post from Craigslist:im selling my broken ps3 slim 160 gig its only about 4 months old i turned it on today an no picture or sound dont know whats wrong with it but anyways i'm selling it for $50 comes with cords and system and if you fix it also has ac3 on it! or all trade it for 360 games lets me know what you got

From my understandings if I pick it up all I should have to do it reset the audio/video by holding down power button for 10 seconds. Would this work? If so I'll defiantly pick it up tomorrow.

 yes it should fix the problem. I know some people will think it's wrong to do so though. In all honesty since it is such a simple fix and that the person obviously didn't bother to google the problem I would most likely go for it myself if I saw it on my craigslist.

I should mention that the problem could also be something else entirely so there is a chance you could get burned. It's not something you can check before you have the system.

I say give it a shot. A couple years ago I bought a cheap "broken" ps3 to load custom firmware on. Got it home, did a compete factory reset on it through the service menu, and it's worked flawlessly since lol

even if you cant fix it for $50 its a good deal as you can use it for parts and use the 160 gig hard drive. please keep us updated im curious to see how this turns out :)

Haha I had that problem myself when I switched from HDMI back to AV for the first time. Thought I had the yellow light of death.

Yea I did too. At least I lived in a duplex at the time and my neighbors had a playstation 3 so I was able to hook up to theirs and figure it out.

It is really stupid. You should be able to just plug in whatever and be good to go instead of having to change crap in the menus.

Called him since he hasn't answered the e-mail, didn't answer so I left a voicemail.
