So, as many of you noticed I haven't been on here as much as I normally would, especially with how I was letting everyone know I'm coming back for good. Well, early in February me and Miss_Mod_Man were involved in a major accident on the highway. A vehicle piloted by a young driver was excessively speeding in very wet weather (in a work zone, too) and attempted a sloppy and reckless last minute pass on the tip of our rear bumper. They proceeded to hydroplane, and struck us into the guardrail after which we were violently rear ended by a loaded semi. We're both alive and getting better, but she had some broken bones (her seat broke and collapsed from the impact) and internal injuries, while I got some major whiplash and severe internal injuries along with maybe a torn joint.

Everything's still being assessed by the lawyers and insurance, but we're alive and slowly healing so I'm very glad for at least that. Not to mention airbags, as I was driving my sister's car at the time (my car has a leak). My old tin-can of a car would have completely imploded if it would have been in the accident.

As for what's pissing me off today:

 Trying to help my sister find/buy a new car online is like pulling teeth.......

Her: "Geez Kevin, why can't you find me a yellow Celica GT-S that's automatic under $3000?".......

Me: "Iunno, maybe because it's a 10 year old car predominantly driven by the street racer/ricer scene"

Her: "So, it should be cheap, after all they don't make it anymore!"

So I was poking around on amazon.jp and discovered that Pony Canyon will be releasing the Ranma 1/2 anime on blu ray, apparently remastered, in the coming months. The first volume out of three is due out in May.

Needless to say I'm all twitterpated about this, as I've been really hoping for Ranma on Blu ray.

What's cool is that it seems the set is region free, so I could buy it if I wanted. There are two problems though.

First is obviously the language (yes, I want english, I don't care if people think that's wrong). Second is the cost. Amazon is selling it for 33,000 yen, marked down from 45,000. Even at amazon's lower price, you're looking at a thousand bucks for a complete set, which, mind you, does not include the OVA series or the movies. I'm aware that such prices are typical for japanese media, but its still way the hell out of my price range.

So I was happy, and now I'm sad. I guess I'll just have to sit and hope that Viz will take these sets and release them here.

Yeeaaah, that's probably not gonna happen. :(

Is every season on DVD in the US at least? I only have season 1, I recall that some of the later seasons got pricey.

Smile: I will be celebrating my 4 year anniversary with my wife on Thursday.

Frown: My wife wants Paella and a bottle of Garnacha for dinner. I love Paella, and excuse my language, but it's very fucking expensive and time consuming to cook. Plus, it doesn't keep well. Lobster, shrimp, saffron, clams...not cheap. And it's also a dish that's meant for a crowd, not a couple.

Making only two servings of the dish and making it cost effective will be quite the challenge. Cutting down the portions isn't difficult, it's cutting down the portions and saving money that will be difficult.

Eh, it will still be better and cheaper than going out.

Time flies doesn't it? Seems to me, you've got something truly special going, way to go Lukie.
